Must be an illusion. 3 of them look like 275/35 and 1 looks like 235/40.New boots arrived …235/40 19 and 275/35 19 Conti SC7s… lovely ..
Far right? Number 3 looks a shed load smaller to me!Must be an illusion. 3 of them look like 275/35 and 1 looks like 235/40.
I can see the stickers confirming the widths, but there's just something optically unsettling with the one on the far right
Yes, but the far right is actually narrower than the two on the left but appears to be as wideFar right? Number 3 looks a shed load smaller to me!
The gravel is not level or even…I can assure you that it’s a pair of 275s and a pair of 235sYes, but the far right is actually narrower than the two on the left but appears to be as wide
The third tire does look like a mini tire![]()

A man has priorities.. level gravel isn’t one of them…sadly..Peter, I'm appalled of your lack of precision of your gravel gradient. My whole perspective of you has shattered.

I'm sure it feels level enough driving over it with your egg shaped wheels, though.A man has priorities.. level gravel isn’t one of them…sadly..
I have a feeling that low profile tyres have a harder time at MOTs than "normal" tyres. I had a slightly baffling advisory for tread depth on my 35is when I had it (SC7's as well), and I suspect that sometimes it's just a case of them looking low rather than an actual measurement being taken.I expected 437m to be tougher and surprised at the harshness of the mot examiner..they didn’t seem that worn to me…but will chat with him on Thursday..
Bitten the bullet…booked an appointment with the rim doctor and putting fresh boots on…going up 5 on profile 235/40 19 and 275/35 19
Rim doctor experience is that going 5 up on profile results in very big reduction in bent rims..
My Apex Arc 8s have the 35 / 30 profile so I’ll have to use them until they wear out too..
Yup I think you’re correct about to take the wheels off and compare with brand new SC7s..I read on a MOT testers web site that anything less than 3mm at the edge could be considered worn..I have a feeling that low profile tyres have a harder time at MOTs than "normal" tyres. Recently had my dad help change some brake calipers and he looked at the nearly brand new Pirelli PZ5's, glanced at the fairly well used Yokohama all terrain tyres on the wheels we were sliding under the car and remarked that I should put the Yokohama's on instead because they have much more tread depth left and the Pirelli's look very worn...

So I see that there’s a drivers side lower dash section with cubby; are you saying that you don’t want/need it? I’d be interested if you want to sell…Actually got around to doing something for myself this weekend, for a change....
Replaced the glovebox, glovebox side trim, centre console and passenger door card. All like-for-like replacements, except in better condition.
Picked up a full interior for an absolute dirt cheap price a couple of weeks ago....

Was only interested in the centre console and glovebox as mine had become scruffy over the years of doing jobs on mine. I'd already fitted a drivers side lower panel with the oddment cubby, and had got the glovebox side piece ready to fit. My door cards were fine already anyway.
Turns out the door cards had the ambient lighting option on them, so as I'd fitted the puddle lights they just needed a little wiring mod and fitted straight on, so I'm really glad I got the lot. Just got to find time to fit the drivers door card now and then sort the illuminated exterior handles as well. Well I just had to add them as well to complete the lighting package.
The ambient lighting comes on when you have the lights on, so driving at night. I've not took it for a drive yet (in the dark), but I did check it last night when it was dark and it's no show stopper, but as it's not really cost me anything so all goodI do like the puddle lights though, which I've had on for some time now, and I'm told the exterior handle lights are fairly good as well so looking forward to getting them fitted.
Then it's onto my OEM reversing camera, no aftermarket parts just genuine OEM BMW using original firmware/software already built into the iDrive headunit! Just got to find time to take half of the car apart (again!)![]()
This one?....So I see that there’s a drivers side lower dash section with cubby; are you saying that you don’t want/need it? I’d be interested if you want to sell…
That’s it, yesThis one?....
Whats the part number for that camera, Dave? Then it's onto my OEM reversing camera
Not that simple unfortunately, you need a replacement PDC module, a TRSVC module, a replacement JBBF module, OEM camera wiring loom, and then the camera. Upwards of well over £200 in parts and a whole bunch of specific coding to be done. Although the firmware/software is in the headunit, it's needs activating which is very specific, complicated and indepth. I'm in 2 minds as to do a video on this as I really don't see it being an option anyone would take on once they know how much it's costing. For me this is one of those "because I can" mods as opposed to a more sensible "should I bother?"Whats the part number for that camera, Dave?
I took the easy way out and tinted my leather to make it younger.
