What have you done to your car today?

Fitted new 3rd brake light as the other one was cracked - had to rip it to pieces to get it out.

Did leather feed to seats after redyeing them last week

Ordered a new set of badges - bonnet, rear and side indicators - from FB Marketplace
Check the bonnet badge is the correct 70mm size with three pegs. Most repros and badges from other models don’t fit quite right.

Make sure you don't lose the riv-nuts when you undo them from the back of the front badge as new badges aren't supplied with them.

What is the leather feed you are referring to?

Are most of you going with foam backed or no foam backing?

I received a sample product from Apex Leather. They don’t carry Alcantara, but do offer Dinamica, a premium microsuede. $129 a yd.
I've now requested a sample of the Alcantara Anthracite Black (#9002) from https://www.upholsterysupplyusa.com/ to compare the products. $135 per yd.

I believe my visors look fine, are many of you redoing the visors too? I plan to do the A & B pillars along with the headliner.

Any input is welcome!
I emailed Apex and they said normally you would use the foam backed Alcantara for the headliner and no backing for the pillars. Makes sense, as that's how it came, but just wondering how long the foam backed product would last...

I have the headliner out now and had the wifey make sure the metal portion of the headliner didn't scrape up my newly covered steering wheel. No problem, but will have to be careful when I'm finished to reinstall it. I reinstalled my visors so I can drive it for now.

Had the valve cover gasket done today along with a rattly alternator pulley. Car starts and just settles into a buttery smooth idle now. Just loving the 3.0 N52 engine at the moment.

Next thing to do is a big suspension overhaul and enjoy the car.

Carried out oil and filter change, fitted new flappy paddle pcb’s purchased from IAmOrion so now left paddle is down shift and right paddle is up shift which works a treat. No more confusion between paddles on my Z and f10.
Also re applied the Z4 badge to the tailgate after a couple of years being de-badged.

Other than filling her up with petrol and having a little blast, nothing done to her today. She's been away for a short while to sort a coolant leak which turned out to be the expansion tank, with the transmission oil cooler thermostat replaced at the same time. Plus a service, and a clean MOT with no advisories. Nice.

Mopped my xenon headlights to remove the extreme yellowing that was stealing all my light. Super easy.
