What have you done to your car today?

I did the cdv delete and havent driven it but it seems alot easier to get in to first and second…no real problems, apart from not undoing the bleed nipple enough for the fluid to be bled… :?

For a laugh I test-fit a couple of these Lenso BSX wheels I've had sitting in my back garden for a while onto my car. I like the look but I don't like the poke (they're ET20 and are only wearing 205/45/17 tyres), so they won't be staying. Just a bit of fun. Now I can go back to dreaming about some nice MV2s instead.

Spotted the perfect plate on a fairly mundane car today - TCZ 4

My initials (TC) and then the obvious. Wonder if they'd take an offer on it?

Everything’s for sale at the right price.

As a reward for not causing me any issues after fitting new DISA valves, I fitted a new Alcantara handbrake gaiter and elbow rest.

Much better than the shiny, worn old leather one.

Looks good, where did you find it?

Looks excellent! I was not familiar with Glasur, so looked up the product. I see that it is a clear coat to apply in a paint booth. Looks like an excellent product!

Did my first Z4 mod/upgrade today; fitted cup holders. It's the small things that make all the difference.

Got to start somewhere! My cup holders are both working...I have never used them...afraid they might break.

Looks like fun Dubbedown! I'm pretty sure my wife is not going to let me track the Z4 MC...

But because of the sticky residue from the film I can't see anything in the rear view mirror now, so tomorrow's job will be getting rid of that with some cellulose thinners!

Not familiar with cellulose thinner...I purchased a steam gun to remove the residue & film on my Volvo 850 GLT. Did the cellulose thinner work well?

Replaced the front wings on my car today with some used one in the right colour.

The old ones were a bit crusty inside.

Washed the car after fitting the wings, gave them a polish and a coat for Fusso Coat.

I bought my current Z4 in 2019 and thought the rear window looked pretty dark, but then it had the Sun Protection Glass option.

But the view from the interior mirror always looked a bit blurred, especially at night and I realised a previous owner had got a dark film applied. Then it started to bubble in places and things got more blurry. :(

I was going to meet a mate for lunch and he had a heat gun so I went over a bit early and got the film off.

Mine has an aftermarket tint, I’m in two minds about keeping it. There is one bubble which is annoying.

Did a general interior cleaning and conditioning.

Looks good, any special products you recommend? :driving:
At this point any decent product would do the job in my car - the steering wheel and seats were repainted last year (seats were 2 years ago)
I'm using FX protect Leather kit, but honestly I believe there are better products out there. At this time I only used FX cleaner, I didn't used their conditioner afterwards because I didn't like it the previous time. It comes as a spray and has a weird smell.
Instead I used a grease like product from Renapur. Liked the effect much more than from FX protect

For other surfaces I used the Pearl waterless universal cleaner.

You guys get some products I'm not familiar with, but apparently work very well.

I wonder if the rust is due to to water getting past the wheel liner and/or the body (paint) was ever damaged. My 06 is pretty clean back there.

Is it because you already have other track cars? If so I don’t blame her. It’s bad enough having to maintain a nearly 20 year old BMW. Track wear n tear just ups that exponentially lol.

Yep, that's the case! She doesn't want me breaking it... like my other cars. Completely rebuilding everything on my NSX right now. It has 24 radiator hoses and I have all of them now and starting to replace them. But also replacing every o-ring and seal on the engine and rebuilding the transmission with the Japanese gearing for 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear. Will keep it in VTEC with the lower gearing.
