This time I've played with the positioning of the heat strips, so they are more where my hands naturally rest on the wheel and just tried to tidy up the routing of the wiring etc. I will also try to get the steering wheel cover a little tidier.
The main reason for this latest version, was getting my hands on a MFSW. Having tested it, I don't know how I've coped without buttons on the wheel for so long! :lol:
I get what you mean about the M-wheel. The heat pads I use only add a millimetre or so, along with the cover.
Been a busy bee today.
Went to my local Eurocarparts first thing and collected two new boot struts, the only thing the ones on my car were doing any more was taking up space, they were both completely shot.
From there, I drove down to see Martin ([ref]enuff_zed[/ref]) who kindly fitted said boot struts for me, and then cracked on with relocating my roof motor.
It appears my motor isn't the original one from new, but is in excellent condition. This pleases me.

Whole thing took just over an hour, although I suspect Martin could do it quicker if I hadn't been there nattering and asking questions. Super pleased with that, it's one of the big preventative maintenance jobs done. Martin also supplied me with some silver steering wheel spoke cover things, for my next stop.
I hopped back into the car and drove back up to Norwich to meet Brian ([ref]Jock156[/ref]), and from him I procured a steering wheel, I've been wanting to replace the poverty-spec plastic one, and this was a good deal. Got it home and gingerly removed the covers with the multifunction buttons as my car can't use them. I fitted the silver side covers, was going to fit the bottom one but it turns out that the front cover on the M-spec wheel is smaller and isn't interchangeable with the standard covers, so have left for the time being. I'll fix it in the future when I stumble upon some different covers. Anyway, fitted that to the car and I think it cheers up the black interior nicely.

No worries. It's a learning experience for me. Just happy to have been able to remove the buttons, it would have annoyed me if they were there but non-functional. But either way, many thanks for guiding me through the cover removing process, managed to get it done without breaking anything (more).

Would be interested I the trims buttons and harness you removed from that steering wheel if you not using them please?
I bought my current Z4 in 2019 and thought the rear window looked pretty dark, but then it had the Sun Protection Glass option.
But the view from the interior mirror always looked a bit blurred, especially at night and I realised a previous owner had got a dark film applied. Then it started to bubble in places and things got more blurry.
I was going to meet a mate for lunch and he had a heat gun so I went over a bit early and got the film off.

But because of the sticky residue from the film I can't see anything in the rear view mirror now, so tomorrow's job will be getting rid of that with some cellulose thinners!
But the view from the interior mirror always looked a bit blurred, especially at night and I realised a previous owner had got a dark film applied. Then it started to bubble in places and things got more blurry.

I adjusted my tire pressures 
Wouldn't normally think to post about this, but I was amazed at the radical difference tire pressures made on a specific roadway I frequently drive. I recently took my coupe for it's first drive of 2025. The initial fifteen miles of two-lane driving with speeds up to 60 mph were glorious, but when I entered a stretch of interstate highway with 70-75 mph traffic, the steering felt heavy and the car didn't seem to be dealing well with the newer, ripple-finish concrete. Last Fall driving this interstate had been a pleasure, but this was NOT. I drove gingerly to my exit and kept my appointment. Afterward, I checked wheel bolts (snug), and tire pressures - all four tires were low, about 25 PSI cold.
I had forgotten to check after the winter storage.
My usual prefererred pressures are 31 PSI Front (225/40R18) and and 32 PSI Rear (245/40R18). I added air to those numbers, and drove the same section of roadway the next day - the difference was amaxing! The steering was lighter (I would have expected), and the ride was smoother (I would not have expected) - higher tire pressures made the tires and suspension work properly together.
If you experience a harsh ride, sometimes higher tire pressures might give better results than lower ones.
