And thanks for that info, guess I'll go with regular paint finish for now, can always change it later. Now to get the wheel off to Royals to get the leather parts sorted (to perforate or not, that is the question!) :)

Where are you sending the steering wheel to have the leather replaced/restored?

The sad thing is that sending it to the UK for this is still cheaper and will be of better quality than having it done in the Netherlands :(

Germany seemed more logical then the UK from the Netherlands.

Never heard of them, but that's a great tip. Will send them an email and request a quote.
Any idea if they speak English? Seeing as my German is quite shite :D

The contact I had was in german, but I just auto translated my texts to german (I wrote the messages in dutch)
That went fine.
 
Royal are very good quality and service guys, many on here have used them. Including me. Whilst I appreciate there’s some water involved, shipping to Germany is not that different to UK…? Look forward to seeing the results, whoever you decide. Apologies, my Dutch is awful.
 
Unfortunately due to Brexit, shipping to/from the UK is far more difficult now. You need to be very careful not to be stung for VAT twice. Honestly I would just use the place in Germany.

Stunning - is that purely from the kit you mention? Any power tools involved to get them that good? (I see product description says ‘no tools’ but wondering if they’re optional to get a better finish).

Was just about to order the Autoglym kit so would find your answers very helpful, thanks in advance! :thumbsup:

No tools needed! The kit comes with some chemical soaked wiping pads to remove the yellow oxidation and 2000 and 3000 grit sandpaper for hand sanding. Depending on your headlight condition you may have to use different grit. One of mine I had to use 1000 grit in addition to the 2000 and 3000. Once the headlights are sanded you just wipe on the ceramic protective coating and let it dry for an hour.

I saw someone had the whole wheel perforated and it looked really good.

For me a non-perforated wheel looks better anytime. Perforated wheel is more an asian thing :D
 
Went for a drive with no warning lights, came home with one and an awful lumpy engine. Misfire Cyl 6. Seems it's a bad coil as it moves when swapped. Checked them all and 5 of the 6 are from 2004 so figured a full set is smarter than one at a time, collecting from the local ECP on Monday.

Good thing I still love this car!
 
Finally getting to the end of my car woes hopefully. Remade the joints(cloth tape wrapped!) in the MAF cable where it had to be extended for the supercharger as it was blowing fuses, realised where a connector that I couldn't place went, and found that I wasn't all that careful putting the inlet manifold back on during one of the 10 or so occasions trying to trace faults. Just a couple of injector loom cables to repair tomorrow and we should be back to a running state.
 
Just stuck 750ml of coolant in the E86 (took it right to max).

How concerned would you be at running around with at least 500-600 ml too little in there, as I clearly have been?
