What have you done to your car today?

That gives you all you need.
There are videos on the X8R site.
I found undoing both engine mounts and raising the engine worked well.
Expect four hours if all goes well , a bit longer if you run into problems.
And don’t forget to stick to the torque settings for every bolt.
Great, thank you :)

X8R deliver fast , I got mine 24 hours later.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Replaced vanos seals

It’s like night and day for me. I can’t believe the difference. I always thought the car was on the slow side. It’s not now ! If yours seems a bit slow it might be the vanos seals. 😎 🚘
I'm guessing changing the vanos seals is not an easy job?

Have you cleaned the MAF sensor? It's super easy! Made a very significant difference on the acceleration of mine :driving:

Parked up in Shaldon village this afternoon for coffee and beach. Got back to the car and this family with a little kid got exited by the side indicator behind the badge. So I flashed it for them, the little kid love it. I'm glad as I have always thought it to be a nice feature of the E85.

My E86 Coupe passed its MOT today with zero advisories.
The complete refresh of springs, shocks, pads, discs and calipers paid off :D

Discovered the lens/cover on the third brake light had decided to part company with the rest of the light and take to the ground. Temporarily superglued the light back together and fashioned a “gasket” out of silicone sealant for now.

Started the work to prep the new Zed ahead of a run later in October.

Discovered all four tyres were dated 2017 and somewhat solid in rubber. New set of Goodyear Asymmetric 6 fitted to all corners. Goes into wet roundabouts without under steering now!

Also replaced the air filter & cabin filter. Previous cabin filter also dated 2017, and fitted sideways causing it to be squished so whoever fitted it could get the box closed. Hoovered the usual amount of crap out and fitted the new filter correctly.

Had the steering wheel leather repainted. Looks like new now :) the plastics were repainted last year, still looking good.

Looks really great! Did those yourself? And if so, what did you use for paint?
I've got the same wheel, and am currently in the process of sanding down all the plastic trim parts by hand. Got grey primer, matt black paint, and clear lacquer ready here once I'm done with this very tedious sanding job :(

I didn't do this myself, there is a guy who does car detailing for living, mainly polishing and ceramics, but he also offers leather and plastics repainting. I must say he's really good at all he's offering

Finally replaced passenger footwell trim and adjusted the passenger headlight on the 2.5i - it was pointed at the floor It’s now pointing the same direction as the drivers headlight.

Big Andra you’ve gone early?! Understandable, the weather has def turned. I’ve got the recall in October to attend to, and hoping for one more drive out before I join you in SORN-land for the winter at the end of October

Yeah, tax was due and I'm up to my eyeballs in work, so it won't get used at the minute. Roll on springtime :)
