What have you done to your car today?

New ground cable put in today (courtesy of the AA, not me :D )
Couldn't get the starter motor to start even though it was brand new.
Transpires it was a corroded cable.

Got an alignment done after fitting new suspension. It's pretty aggressive for dual duty driving but I think it will be fine:

Front Camber: 3.0 degrees
Front Toe: 0.08 degrees total
Rear Camber: 2.0 degrees
Rear Toe: 0.12 degrees total

Now time to get out there and test it :driving:

Please report back on how you get on

Not so much today, but I got an evening slot at Donny last night.

The car performed (almost) faultlessly - until I boiled the brake fluid near the end of the evening - pedal went almost to the floor and took a few pumps to get the car stopped - bit scary when approaching Mclean's at something well north of 100mph!!! Brake fluid change now on the never ending list before the Ring trip in 2 weeks!

Trackday photography isn't done yet so you'll have to make do with my 'before' and 'after' photos!

Oooh and side note, no issues whatsoever with noise limits with the supersprint X-pipe & Race cans :)

I finished my mini suspension refresh by fitting some Powerflex RTAB bushes and new carrier to my Z4.

The old bushes looked pretty battered.

The carriers didn’t look as bad as they weee made out to be by the alignment place but were replaced with new bolts as well.

It was alignment yesterday and feels much better, although I’m tempted to take it to for a posher alignment in dire course to get it better.

So nice... what is the precise colour on those wheels?

Today I have been spraying the strut behind the grill and a headlight washer jet cover. Fun times.

Thanks! It's Lamborghini Imola Bronze :)

Changed both rear coil springs. Used Sachs from Euro Car Parts. All standard and used everyday, for everything so like for like and it feels miles better. The others had an advisory of corrosion on MOT. Very easy job to be honest. 👍

That looks better.
Next job.................. rear bump stops by the look of those!!!
Monroe shocks so looks like someone has swapped those and not bothered to spend the extra tenner to fit new bump stops. :headbang:

Thought somebody would see that! 😂 I'll probably replace both shockers in the next month or so. All the rear trim and carpets are stripped out so access is there already. 👍

Do NOT fit Meyle HD top mounts. There are no protruding lugs in the rubber, so the metal centre barrel fits up tight to the cup washers. The knocking drove my wife mad so after about 500 miles I swapped them for Lemforder. The wear on the Meyle ones was shocking

Finally moved enough zeds around to dig this one out of hibernation.
All dusted down and ready for the MOT in the morning.
