What have you done to your car today?

Added 20mm spacers to the rear and pretty disappointed to be honest. Sticks out too much imo. Surprised so many people say 20mm works. For me now 15mm looks more like the optimum. Also strange there’s so much negative camber.

Spacers always look silly on a standard height car.
It's an opinion.
Not all will agree.

I don’t care if they do or don’t Martin.
That’s the point of having an opinion

I’ve done more head scratching than anything.
Removed airbox and pipe work, throttle body out as well. Now trying to work out the physics of how to fit anything let alone hands or tools under the manifold to get to the starter motor…..,

Personally, faffing about trying to get access takes about as long as pulling the manifold, so might as well. Easy enough job, just be careful with the PCV heater cables

Thanks! It’s made to order by Silvano in Germany, and resells via Burkhart. It’s a carbon copy (ha!) of the original aero spoiler. I got an old one kicking around that’s got clearcoat damage, and needs a paintjob. DM me if you’re interested

Barty, sent you a DM.

Washed then polished exterior, wife gave the interior a spruce up. Looks like new  Then went out for a drive to Totnes to show it off. :driving:

Changed the gear knob. What a difference it is at shifting! Totally different - better feeling :driving:

Finished refreshing the Z4M light up gearknob. It had horrible bubbles under the paint where the numbers were and looked awful. Popped the top off and realised I would have to take all the paint off (including the M flash). Anyway I masked up and repainted the flash from scratch than masked and painted the black and it came out perfect. Reattached to top of knob, job done. Not fitting to car as have fitted the ZHP. Sadly I didn’t take a before picture.

Replied, thanks!

Yesterday I turned this…

Into this:

Well happy with that result! Ready to go into Max’ Maldives roadster soon. I also started on something for myself, big reveal later

Didn't do anything's ng to the car over the weekend but I did do something to my head. Went out for a couple of hours in the sunshine and have ended up with a very red head. I should know better, I have had this "hair style" for over 20 years but still get caught out without a hat :o

Anyway took her on a couple of local biker routes and she faired pretty well.

Full service yesterday. Car seemed to run sweeter after fresh oil and new sparks.

I took the opportunity to fit a new thermal oil level sensor (easy peasy) as I had two codes:
27C3 DME: Thermal oil-level sensor
279C DME: Thermostat, map cooling : activation

Although I had a new thermostat lined up, changing the sensor fixed both codes so they must have been related.

Then I got sunburnt driving around :o

I got the original wheels put back to BMW silver (they were black), took off the Apex Arc 8's and returned the car to a standard look. Just need some nice weather now.20240418_110110.jpg20240418_110049.jpg20240418_110033.jpg

That looks great in white.

Filled up from empty after just 3 days of daily driving and 1.5 mountain runs. Normally a tank lasts me a week
