What have you done to your car today?

Not specifically today, but some bits from the past couple of weeks…

Finished refurbing the E46 330i front brakes and stock rears. Local garage fitted, along with wezmoto braided brake lines. I did try, but after an hour long battle with the carrier bolts and then finding the disc retaining screws were rounded, I gave up!

Bit dirty as I’m waiting for the great British summertime to finally arrive, so I can give her a proper clean and machine polish.

20mm hubcentric spacers on the rear. Really liking the stance. 12mm spacers for fronts were an issue. The bolts on passenger side seem to be fouling the dust shield. Had the same issue with some locking bolts I bought. I have a feeling my dust shield may be slightly loose, but that’s a job for another day. Before and after pics.

Received a lovely piece of nappa leather to trim the dash pieces provided by EnuffZed  That’s the next project to keep me entertained…

What suspension and wheels setup are you running?

Standard sports setup as far as I know with the style 107 elipsoid wheels…

Dust shield for 330/3.0l si front disc brake conversion is bigger and you need to remove front hub to change.

Thanks, I read from others doing the conversion that the shield change was a faff but that the original shield was fine to leave on? I’ll maybe combine the shield swap with a wheel bearing replacement

Just finished wrapping the aluminium trim in 3M Black brushed metal.

The original trim was a bit bashed up (no idea how people manage to scratch and dent it so much!) so bought some replcaments that wer in better condition but decided I fancied a bit of a change. I'm not one for "modding" so wanted it to look as OEM as possible and I am very happy with the results.

Pretty amazing!!! Looks great!

After getting the leather redone on my steering wheel, the worn black plastic trim really stuck out. Rather than pay up the nose for new, decided to go with the Individual trim set. I think the graphite offers a nice contrast while still marching the gauge surround.

Dumbledown that looks terrific! Is it the same on each side too. Excuse my ignorance but I’m guessing this is not an E89 Z4? Id like to do something similar…

Yea same on both sides. Here’s a pic before I fully assembled entering. I sourced matching gray msfw buttons as well. And yes this is for an E85/86.

Not today.....a couple of days ago.
Dark smoke tint fitted to rear triangle windows and boot lid.

Looks great but no photos yet....they're still to come!

Love it or hate it I fitted a stubby today. Can't get the indoor cover on/off easily with that ridiculous OEM antenna!

Finished fitting my new expansion bottle, a big thanks to Enoughz, Martin, for your advice and tips.
I had an air lock as I had no furnace heating after filling the system, managed to shift it though.

Started making way for dropping the subframe... which quickly turned into a fight with the dreaded exhaust flanges... Bottom two bolts easily cut with the angle grinder, one top one just crumbled by shaking around the reinforcement plate that ties the two flanges together... And the last bolt took a few hours of work :x

I tried every tool that seemed capable of doing the job until I put a small dremel grinding wheel into the air powered die grinder... the poor wheel did not enjoy it but it did a good job of getting rid of the stub :driving: the original nuts were not just bad, it seemed someone replaced them with welds :headbang:
