That's a serious shine you got going on there!!!! Did they just swap out the oils or was other work done?

Thanks!
It was just in for the gearbox and diff oils this time around.
I recently had y .oca. garage do these oil but used the BMW recommended oils , can't remember off hand the grade but these seem to work well.

Car went in for mot this morning and failed on the offside rear spring  Thought it looked a bit low last night  Garage will replace both rears, been dreading this as a previous owner changed the fronts to sport springs from Suplex and the car sat nicely, I have the receipt. There are 2 sizes, I have explained this to the garage, he knows this himself, and said I want the same height. He's a good chap so here's hoping. Bit of a worry though as there are lots on AT with uneven heights. :headbang:
Going in on Wednesday to have both sides done, the guy seems confident that he has the correct size and a bit put out that I wouldn’t leave my car over night in his work shop.

I take it mot is a vehicle inspection. Wonder if they would even notice a bad coil spring here and whether the inspection would pass or fail! :driving:

Attacking both front fog lamps, they looked yucky inside and outside so decided to see if I could improve them without replacing , I'll probably replace them next year. Pictures to follow once they have been split, cleaned , repainted and refitted.......watch this space :D

First played camera car with the 147 for our Corvo Tour, spring edition. Then took the Zed to a dinner, followed by a quick rinse, and an evening drive

I've finally had the steering wheel refurbished and also installed new shift knob to tie the look together. Happy days :driving:

Looks great! A freshly refurbed steering wheel is one of those gamechangers in how a car feels; factory fresh to the touch :driving:

Yeah the MOT is an annual test that has to be done on all cars between 3 - 40 years old. The results get logged on a government website for all to see and can be used as an indicator as to how well a car may or may not have been looked after. Ashely Neal (UK Driving instructor) did a video on the process of one of his cars which was quite interesting.

You can check the results of any car here https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history you just need to know the registration number (License plate) and your golden. Im not sure what the equivalent in the US would be or if there is an equivalent.

The steering wheel looks great, I love that tri-colour ///M stitching, very classy
Was it done by Royal?

I coughed up my £395 ved this morning and took the old jallopy up through the Durham Dales to get the oil sloshing about after it’s winter hibernation!

Thanks! I'm quite happy myself, it was done by a top local guy in SI to an oem standard.

Here's before and after:

To be honest, I don't think you could've asked for a better job, it looks perfect

Yes indeed he did a great job, in all aspects exactly as oem. I had to wait more than 2 months though for it :)
He did mention the tricky part on this fat wheel is to get the old leather off with the underlying foam intact, so it can be reused.

I should have documented what I did but basically, removed, split fog lamps, cleaned and polished plastic lenses cover inside n out, wired brushed corrosion inside fog lamp, primed, painted with chrome paint, resealed the lens to the housing and refitted with new bulbs. They looked absolutely horrible before as all the chrome had come off and the plastic lenses were running with water and covered in the flanked off chrome. I'm hoping with the inspection cover well sealed and the lenses both water tight they should look good for some time, saved the best part of £180 which can go towards my brakes, bush and suspension upgrades.

Cleaned the leather, used a steamer and then Dodo juice Supernatural Leather cleaner. Turned out really good apart from the armrest which turned out worse  looks like I am going to have to get it professionally fixed!
