What have you done to your car today?

Very niceeeeeee, just gotta love that colour
What was racing at Donnington? And is the museum still open?

It was touring cars - first round of the BTCC. :driving:

Good question on the museum… not 100% sure! First time I’ve been to Donington for a race day surprisingly! I usually end up catching the touring cars at Thruxton or Brands Hatch, so was a nice change of venue - even if it did bucket down in the afternoon!

Great job on your coupe by the way!! Looks fantastic! And quite a list of jobs you’ve managed to get done - well done!

Went in the superb Donington Collection many times in the 80s/90s. Walking into the McLaren Hall literally took your breath away. It had a slow demise after circuit owner Tom Wheatcroft passed away in 2009. Last time I visited was maybe about 2012 and it was greatly depleted. Wheatcrofts cars were all sold off and others returned to owners before finally closing in 2018. Very sad :( x0gsadq0f6111.jpg

I refitted newly sprayed matt black and matt lacquer trim ( much better than the rubber coating which was fun to remove ) . Then fitted steering wheel back on that I had refurbed by Royals ( Royals kept me updated throughout they were excellent ) . Feels great . Very happy . :D

Well I haven't done anything to my M today, but I keep checking with Freakyparts to see when my red Brembo calipers will be in... :(

I did recently change all the fluids in my M, except the oil/filter. Going to do a valve adjustment and then change the oil. Need to make a final decision on the valve shim kit.

Trying to figure out which coilovers to go with. I don't plan to track this car, but I'll bet it would be a blast on the Cota F1 track. I took my NSX there for a two day event. I'm running 19" rims and the struts have 112K miles on them. The BC RACING COILOVERS seemed part good for the price point. I would like to dial in a fairly soft ride for my wife around town. I might lower it a slight bit, but with the road construction it's really a hash ride. Not totally sure if this is the original equipment standard operation or 112K miles, or 19" rims...

I'm eyeing the Jpm Carbon Fiber Front Bottom Spoiler too. Any feedback on struts, shim kits or coilovers or splits would be great! :D

Thanks,
~Tom

Need to get mine sent off! :?

Well actually your original steering wheel leather is in much better condition than mine. So did you paint it before sending it off or after it was returned?

Really looks great, I would consider doing this! :o

Removed everything from the steering wheel before sending it off / removed old rubber/paint coating from trim and spray painted / put everything back on when returned .
The company that recover the steering wheels are well know in the UK and have been mentioned on this forum and others quite alot .

I`ve got the BC RA coilovers and they do a good job for the price and are very easy to adjust .

Comfortable? I am scared to make my car less uncomfortable even though it is my second car!

[ref]1536Z4[/ref], and [ref]Rldee007[/ref],

Thanks guys on the feedback regarding the BC RA coilovers. Seems like the best bang for the buck! Now I just need to talk my wife into it or the normal beg for forgiveness after ordering!!! :headbang:

They should be more comfortable if your car is still on its original shocks . Do a search and see what other people have said about them . Bilsteins are normally another popular option . Depends how much you want to spend . Good luck with the wife conversation
