What have you done to your car today?

Today, I pressed the ‘Sport’ button for the first time since I bought it this time last year

Oh. And i just had the rocker cover gasket done too :happyclap:

I’m not knocking this, but, what circumstances have led to this happening for the first time, only after one year of ownership?

Lol, i’ve aways felt the power the car has was enough, and I have had good fun - trust me, and maybe because the gasket was fixed, I decided it was time the acceleration out of the roundabout was awesome

I think i might try it again one day, maybe not in a year though

The sport button is part of my start up routine..

To be clear though it gives no more power.
To put it very basically: normally when you put your foot down half way the throttle opens about a third, then the rest comes in wit the second half of the movement.
In Sport, the first half way of the pedal gives you two thirds throttle opening. So it's just more sensitive to your inputs.
It also stiffens the steering and on an auto it holds the gears longer.

It makes much more difference in an Auto than a manual. Holds the gear longer under acceleration and generally staying in one gear lower than usual. If you are hustling, it’s quite manic, in a good way :evil:

Yesterday I did the following:
(1) changed the gas struts on the trunk lid
(2) installed new Bilstein B6 shocks on the rear (did the front last week)
(3) changed the rear differential fluid
(4) changed the gearbox oil (took out about 1.4L, put back in 1.6L)
(5) replaced various missing screws from bottom plastic shields
(6) took my 12mm spacers off the front wheels (tram lining / poor handling was getting annoying)

Finally got round to shifting the e91 from the inspection pit(leaking n46 engine)to change lambda sensor which was giving me a code,runs loads better and getting better mpg now also.

No chance. I cleaned it myself and made him clean the i10 instead. I forgot it was white underneath :lol: .

I retro fitted one to my old 2.2 04 last year,the satisfaction when I pressed the button for the first time and the light came on was priceless,I know small things please tiny minds….

Not all in one day, but over the last few weeks I have successfully changed the water pump & thermostat on my coupe plus removed the clutch delay valve. Have also had a set of PS4 tyres fitted and yesterday the car got its new MOT. So all set to tax it in ten days time.

Some more Style 108 action....

Got my spare centres blasted last week, then DIY prepped and painted them today with Halfords Anthracite Wheel Paint and PU lacquer. Are they as good as pro powdercoating? Defintootley not, but they'll do for me.

The barrels are fine as they are. I'll switch the centres over for the contrast finish I always wanted, then get new tyres on the front as the current ones are 10 years old. I also have a recently purchased set of 15mm front / 20mm rear spacers to finish the job

Gave the Z a thorough clean today, ready for a trip to RBM tomorrow. X8R VANOS and DISA kits to be fitted, plus some general maintenance.
