What have you done to your car today?

Finally got round to fitting my storm shield + cover, bought of a forum member when I was n the uk last,it fits really well and it will do me until new lambda sensor bank 2 after cat arrives because it’s drinking like a fish at the minute and I’m wanting to use my e36 as much as possible before it’s repatriation to England 😉

Ok so this is a bit ‘mild’ in the whole world of upgrades, but I’m excited to have received my forum window art. I feel I belong! Will be fitting tomorrow in the side windows (those mirror-sized bits of glass just behind my ears). I also feel I may have made a (rather small) contribution to the maintenance of the forum too 🥰

EA0204C9-79FF-4010-8578-8E5B1EB3FFD8.jpeg got it nice and clean after it got covered in brick dust.
Then noticed this damage on the passenger side sill which I hadn’t seen when I last washed it, but did notice it when washing it after Fridays MOT ffs

Damn! Too late to prove it was the garage now I guess?
What colour is that? Will look out for a sill if you like.

My mechanic manages the whole process and he wants to see it before casting aspersions but it looks to me like a jack mounted in the wrong spot, or something like that.

Thanks my good man, it’s Titan Silver. It’s going to my body shop guy this month to sort the lacquer peel on front bumper so maybe get this done too. Even if it was the garage, not much chance of them admitting it.

Stuck a set of Accelera 651 Sport Extras on this afternoon. I also dropped my front camber to 0.5mm, not much thought around that but I just fancied having a play. My son tracks his Golf on the Sport Extras and swears by them and at around £100 a pop that's one heck of a saving, less than half the going rate for a PS4. At that price I might even use them as my all rounder, time will tell.
I also read on here to use Miltons solution on a soft top for Algae, so I had a go on mine which was very green around the edges and it has worked well. Thank's to whoever posted that one.

Washed and cleaned ready to get dirty again 😂

Spent last night fitting the M-bumper, absolutely stoked about the new look. Note the brake ducts and grille in high gloss black; really finishes off the look

Then, after 4 hours of sleep, had a shoot booked (which is why I desperately wanted to finish all the work) with the freshly upgraded coupe. Note also the return of the diffuser! Feels good to be “back”

Guessing the car might settle a little lower yet as not done many miles, but this is how it sits on the B8’s and Eibach Pro’s… not drastically different to the active set up.

Night and day difference on the road though, in a very good way

Upgraded the brakes to 325mm 3.0Si spec today.

I got a decent second hand set from a Z4C, stripped them, cleaned them and applied some black Hammerite, all last weekend to give the paint some time to harden.

This weekend I took off the old brakes and fitted the new ones. It was a bit of a faff getting the old discs off as I had to drill out the retaining bolts. I’ve done callipers a few times now and once you understand how the callipers/carriers/pads fit together and know how to open the hydraulic lines without losing all your fluid, it is pretty straightforward.

Those discs look massive sitting behind 17” daisies.

Wow that looks spot on! Absolutely sensational colour too

I’m not sure if that was aimed at me, but many thanks if so

Rear wheels need spacers ideally, and all need to be refurbed… but getting there

Today I converted a non headlight washer bumper, into one with headlight washers!!

All the fittings are there as standard so it was just a case of carefully cutting the shape out with a dremel.

Good work mate. I noticed yesterday that the cut outs and mountings for the washers are all there.
However I've decided to go the other way for wifey's. I now have a decent non-washer bumper and as the fuse has been pulled for the last three years anyway, that is going on, along with the single pump washer bottle.

Today, I pressed the ‘Sport’ button for the first time since I bought it this time last year  :fuelfire:

Oh. And i just had the rocker cover gasket done too :happyclap:

I’m not knocking this, but, what circumstances have led to this happening for the first time, only after one year of ownership?
