What have you done to your car today?

MOT today, another clean pass

I love it when the MOT tester comes and gives you a compliment on the car, “it’s so clean underneath” :D 8)

Now then, to sell or keep :?

Honestly, why is that even a question..?

Because…. There are so many Zed’s

Installed the aFe intake set up and scrubbed off the yellow warning label from the sun visors. Removing the labels was a lot easier than I thought it would be, didn't take 20 min. beginning to end. I used Methyl Hydrate and let it soak for a couple of minutes then scrubbed.

After chasing maf codes and misfire issues I stripped the intake right back only to find carnage. Expensive isn’t always better…

Eventuri filter probably no more than 10k miles had disintegrated blocking the maf and causing poor air flow.

Stock box back in and some fresh spark plugs and we’re back in business.

Also had the freaky parts brembos upgrade kit fitted the other day too. Great kit but require 12mm spacers for csl wheels.

Lovely warm day, so I finally got round to fitting a new windscreen trim to my E85 2004. One of those jobs I had been putting off, but actually it turned out to be just as easy as shown in the Youtube videos :) Took 40 minutes start to finish, being really careful no bits left in the channel. Actually the old one came out quite cleanly and the old black sticky sealant soon cleaned up. Photos show old perished corner, the channel with old seal removed, new seal ready to fit and the finished job

First went to the dealer to pick up one of the last -and smallest- pieces of the interior puzzle. Should all go in before Bimmerfest on May 8th.

Then did an oil and filter change as well as 6 new sparkplugs. Runs noticeably smoother now, so well pleased with that!

Finally, quick tint of the hockey pucks to reduce their presence on the sides. I like the design, but the white was a little too bright. Since they have LED’s inside, light levels aren’t an issue.

Ended the day with a visit to a not very local tint specialist, so the new blood had a good 250kms to run through the block. Hoon over B-roads on the way back, good times

Thanks for that Mojito  I'll add it to my 'to do' list :D

Mixed feelings...

Painted my foglights black as they had the dreaded condensation issue and it feels like the cheapest and cleanest option right now as new ones would fail eventually and I am never using them.

Then noticed a front wheel did not like its encounter with a pot hole last week... Luckily I cannot feel any vibration or steering movement so I'll wait until it is convenient for me to get it fixed

Oh bu##er !! Is it worth getting a photo of the offending pot hole to send to the council ?

Have been enjoying driving the MR every day the past week. Couldn't let this weather pass without simply enjoying it. Happy to see Super has not gone passed £1.68 per ltr down here thus far. :D :driving:
