What have you done to your car today?

Birds completed an LSD install into a 3.46 donor diff (massive improvement from the 3.07 standard). Not had the chance to "test" the LSD yet if you know what I'm saying...!

Just want to add that Birds were as professional as ever.

Look forward to the review  How long did they take to fit it ?

Took them around 4-5 hours so popped into London and went to the Natural History Museum to pass some time!

Took it to its MOT; failed. The front right calliper is binding, which I first noticed and suspected yesterday due to a small vibration through the wheel and an ever so slight pull to the right. Not ideal, but not a big deal either after 15 years. Compliments all round from the mechs otherwise, so the Z’s in good hands. New calliper ordered and will be replaced first thing Monday morning

Two things today.

Had the underside of my 05 treated by rust busters who provide a rust prevention treatment. Seemed like a good idea. Time will tell.

Secondly, for what feels like a milestone, I finally got the dreaded transport mode deleted. Two cables down and no luck with INPA I rashly took a risky purchase off a Chinese obd scanner site. To my amazement a Foxwell 530 actually arrived. Still convinced it would be a knock off the fact it registered was equally good news. Good to go with the BMW addon I plugged and found the delete transport mode option. Finally I can turn the blower up and down and demist the rear.

Put it all back together underneath following the clutch, flywheel and associated parts.

The only thing I am not happy with is I can not find an O2 post cat sensor anywhere, I replace one in the summer and have now replace the front 2 and wanted to replace the 4th one a post cat O2 sensor Bosch appear to have stopped making or supplying them other makes are not the right length cable and today I found that the plugs are different, I was aware that there is a short and long one but the plugs are different as well.

Main dealers are a large increase in price for the same thing but may end up there

In live data the voltage seams to drop out then return so it is not in the best condition and this brings on a warning light.

Changed the Oil Filter Housing gasket, Intake rubber boot, fuel injector o-rings, refreshed the CCV system and cooling system sans the radiator. Picture is of some of the pieces parts.

New calliper fitted, fresh MOT with compliments from the mechanic on how well it looked despite being an 06 car. Well- apart from the disgustingly dusty front right… that’s been remedied now

New calliper fitted ...

Also needed a new one recently (also for a coupe living in the Netherlands  ), albeit it my left rear caliper being somewhat stuck. Luckily not in relation to an MOT.

My first idea being the same as yours; no biggie after almost 14 years / 195.000 kilometres.

Did you just fit one new caliper? I as advised to replace both calipers on the same axis simultaneously (both by the AA and my fully Z3/Z4 oriented indy), which advice I took.

Sound advice, and reached the same conclusion. Difference is, I'll replace the left-side myself. Saves me about 100 euro's over my local having to do it for me. So new calliper on order

Went out for a 'play' in the snow. Haven't owned a RWD car for over 20 years (last one was a Vauxhall Carlton GSi 3000) so it was 'interesting' driving in the white stuff :P
