What have you done to your car today?

Lost some more skin off my knuckles trying to find my leak. I think (hope) that I have found where it comes in. Where the vent comes through the bulkhead there is a seal and i think is coming in there. So I’ve gobbled a load of mastic around it - not pretty but if it does the job then I’ll re do in the summer.

Replaced the diagonal bars behind the grilles as the black paint was flaking and annoying me. Wasnt as simple as I hoped but I got there in the end.

Then I just stood back and admired them !

I done the vanos and disa valve on my 2.5 z today, also done the thermostat housing after i broke it trying to get the vanos off :headbang:
Must say that it definitely feels more responsive and is idling better too, plus the cam cover gasket was leaking as well, so a win win other than the thermostat housing of course

I removed mine a while back, stripped and painted then back in. Was a bit of a pita getting it out at first but at least it's done now. Cars look mint 👌🏻

First bit of decent sun for a while so gave the Z a bit of a pampering ... tomorrow I'll do the interior (assuming the weather holds out!)

SORN and hibernating indoors, with more than two feet of snow outside. Added some leather balm to the seats, MF’d outside with QD and tried the new indoor cover on. Two to three months left to wait :)

Busy one! Took the radio out last week, and then suddenly remembered in the middle of the night a couple of days ago that I had forgotten to plug the cables back in! 🙈 Also took the aged looking sat Nav out. It was at that point I realised that somebody had stuck the lid up with bathroom sealant, I thought it was just stuck up! Intentions to turn into storage/ charging deck for phones..

Is there a storage tray available or will you make your own?
What are you doing with the old screen?

No. His & His. Hers is a G29 !
I think I’ve got issues !!

Wow! I am in love with those Alpinas!! How come 2 though mate? Not judging at all, just curious. If I could have 2 (or more) I definitely would :D :D :D

Aimed to nip out in it to top up with fuel, so I can take it to work in order to give it a good run as its been sat.

1. Brakes had really binded.
2. after getting fuel I went to start it, strange noise (Fuse blowing) clock time / date had gone, and trip had reset. Then the tri came up (Abmer: Run flat, hand brake and DSC) Quick scan revealed "Steering angle sensor"

drove down to the sea front for a bag of chips, got back in, started up all cleared.

Feels like these cars do not like being sat!

I've had the one (#019) since 2015 and bought #307 last November. I will be selling #019 come March, so just a delayed substitution really.

I tell you what. I bought a 20W solar charger. Working an absolute dream just now, right through this really poor spell of weather. Car hasn't skipped a beat. I'm even challenging it. 4 weeks since early Jan. Dark days, snow, sub zero. Central locking and turnover were like a summers day when you have just been in it the day before. Really pleased, very easy to connect to the engine jump points and leave on the ground n front of the car.

Booked the old girl in for full valet, clay and machine polish wax ,lets hope the weather holds out tomorrow.
Will post some pics of the results.

I'm hopefully getting the existing piece scanned, and a new 3D model to be made, if successful, I'll share the drawings. At the moment the screen is detached from it''s casing, probably going to go in the bin..
