What have you done to your car today?

Can you open the bonnet and connect a battery to the terminals under there to open the boot?

Can you not unlock it using the key in the lock?

Apparently so! What a bloody relief. :D

Looks like I'll be cleaning the thing out today. I revealed a bit of dirt and grime behind some plastic so, if anything, the thing should be cleaner than ever.

Last night I dismantled the amp and washed the paint off the circuit board. I can either reflow all the solder, or experiment and see if it works as is....

Probably find it'll only play one song now...........

Smokey Robinson - I second that emulsion

There should be no need to reflow the board.
Just make sure it is all dried out very well before switching on.

Preferably wash with IPA, at least as a final rinse to displace any water. Then dry for a few days at elevated temperature. Hope it all works for you when switched on.

Disconnected the headlight washer pump and glued the headlight washer caps in place. I wont lose them no more and will keep my headlights/hood clean :)

Finally deleted the CDV today.
Wow, what a difference.

Considering it takes 20 minutes and makes so much difference, I am surprised there are many zeds driving around with a CDV still installed.

If you haven't already, get that CDV out of there!

If you haven’t already, I’d recommend a heavier gear knob like the ZHP to improve the gear change even more :driving:

That is definitely next on the list
I might actually pop up a wanted add for one. Maybe a forum member is getting rid of theirs.

Just for your info, I got mine from this dealer on eBay for £60

Spent 10 minutes adjusting my drivers side bonnet buffer Bump Stop, so that the bonnet now sits perfectly flush with the wing (thank you @Number5 for the tip)

It was niggling me, so now happy 8)

Finished cleaning my wheels and arches today. Front right has a fair dent on the inside. Which should be repairable I would think. I'll have to put a claim in for pothole damage.

And I drove the JCW for the 1st time in weeks. It starting giving some horrible vibrations through the steering wheel after a spirited right hander, jacked it up no movement in the wheel but looks like the os strut is pissing oil all over the arch and tyre.. ffs! :headbang:

I installed my ZHP knob a few days back. Drove the car for the first time yesterday. Definitely an improvement and worth consideration for ~£60.

Is your car a facelift?

If so, you’re looking at front left and right corners of bonnet slam panel for a smallish rubber stop with a spring loaded rod sticking out of the top... which depresses when you press down (the rod)

You need a small Phillips screwdriver to push down and turn the pin to lock it in place and you can then turn the body of the stop and it will rise/fall as you turn it. It’s even easier than it sounds, trial and error to get it perfect
