What have you done to your car today?

I took my passenger seat out to sort a seat belt warning, then found my floor was wet :x . So next job was to dry it out and unblock the drain

I did a thing

Project 'Moonshine' progressing accordingly πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚
Completely concealed led strips behind the panels, so it looks completely oem when not on.
Still the passenger side sill light strip, power supply and little PWM module for adjustable brightness to sort out. I also need to find a wiring diagram to find some ignition controlled +V. Otherwise i will hook to the stereo supply. Unfortunately the cigarette lighter is 'always hot' supply (no pun intended)

It’s amazing what you’ll do to keep yourself occupied.

I need another of those pumps, mine gave up the ghost after I last changed my oil :x

It was a Β£13 cheapo one though

Just like Spaniarduk, got it taxed from tomorrow and really looking forward to driving it for the first time this year!

Taxed it & fitted gloss black & chrome grills. I bought a set of grills on here a couple of weeks ago & sprayed them up gloss black. I think the full gloss black is a bit too much so I've used the chrome from my originals. Quite happy with the new look:

Looking forward to going for a good run now :driving:

Just taken some aero side skirts in for painting and then hopefully drop the car off towards the end of the week to have them fitted. :D

I was thinking of doing the opposite and have original grills and gloss black surround

Changed the oil filter after 1100 mile since the winter engine work, rod bearings etc will change the oil and filter in around 900 miles time

Increasing engine load after warm up now and in 900 more mile will be done with running in the rod bearings and everything else that has work done over the winter

It's all personal preference, and of course it depends on the colour of your Zed :D . Perhaps I'll put the gloss black surrounds on my grey grills & see how they look . I spent a fair bit of time on the chrome surrounds so I could get a good gloss black finish (plenty of sanding & acid etch primer etc.) & I've ended up not using them :o . Still I've got a few options if I decide to change my mind  .

Taxed my car today and did a drive thro Teesdale then back down thro Weardale.
That’s the first drive since the end of October last year - 20Β° and sunny. It would have been nice to stop for a meal or even a snack but I suppose the drive out was the icing on the cake!

I’d forgotten how nippy the old heap is

Mixed-grill is the way to go! :D I am currently using this combination on the coupe and the roadster:

This works really well for me. Changing to black with chrome surrounds is ... well ... in essence the standard setup for anything else than 3.0i / 3.0si. That also works less for me, because there are no other real chrome bits on the front of the car (3.0i / 3.0si headlight inserts to me have a less "chromish" appearance than the grill surrounds do).
