What have you done to your car today?

I had to make an essential trip to get a legal document signed by my sister that our solicitor needed by Tuesday, so I took the Z for a very enjoyable 80 mile round trip - lovely. :driving:

That's the first time I've used it for 2 weeks. :(

Keeping the mileage down, look on the bright side :P

True, but now it's had it's Inspection 2 and petrol is so cheap it seems a shame not to burn some!

Then noticed that the centre brake light had broken yet again. This is my 4th or 5th one now. They're just awful cheap plastic things. The clear housing had separated from the black part, so managed to glue it all back together, and a bit of tape just for added stiffness

Are you over tightening it maybe? Ive changed mine before on a previous Z and you can over tighten if youโ€™re not careful.

I just do the nuts up finger tight and make sure the brake light is sitting flush in its hole. I've purchased new nuts and springs in the past, but the lights are still cracking, so god knows, hence why I've now had enough and gone with the tape and glue

Mmm... I can only think maybe they werenโ€™t genuine? Where do you source them?
I use this seller on eBay, a proper dealership and 100% genuine.

Fixed (or at least I think I have) a leaking brake line which has been causing my fluid to need topped up once a month :? And removed the 15mm front and 20mm rear spacers as they seem to have introduced 'wavy' steering wheel movements at speed. Now they're off I took it a quick run on and off the motorway and it looks like it's cured  function over form this time round i think :driving:

I ended up removing the front pacers for similar reasons but left the rears. The car looks and feels better with the 18mm spacers behind.

I managed to transfer the fault from my soft top to the coupe with the spacers, hopefully getting some new wheels with a more aggressive offset soon so they're staying off for good now lol

Measured and cut a card template for a wind deflector im making out of Perspex glass. Going to cut the perspex tomorrow with a standard jigsaw, apply a rubber trim to the edges, fix on with clear velcro straps and apply a Z4 sticker decal to the centre.

Haha what do you mean?! Here's some pics of the cardboard template fixed on, I'll be doing several test runs on cutting perspex this week before doing the final cut! Will attach pics when it's all (hopefully) done :) IMG_20200510_181618.jpgIMG_20200510_181553.jpg

I did something similar. Trimmed a E85 shield to fit the E89. Fine toothed blade and then a file and eventually some fine paper to finish the cut edge. Eventually I used some 13mm black velcro straps in place of the self sticking ( ) vinyl straps that came with it. Quite happy now with the look and the performance.

Advice from an old carpenter. Fold your pattern in half keeping the top line true to ensure the bottom curves are symmetrical.

Glad to help. I also suggest putting painters or masking tape on the plexi where the saw base or shoe will be running so it doesn't mark the plastic. Good Luck

Do you mean run some masking tape on the side of the cut that will become the deflector? Another good tip, thank you!

Gaaaah!!! Don't show me that

Missus car started making an awful racket so I charged up the Z4. Gave it a good wash. Pumped up the tyres. Then the wing mirror glass fell off and smashed.

Off to Halfords for a social distancing click and collect. Stuck it on right outside the shop. Success!

Has been nice driving it around after all these weeks.

Mine fell off yesterday too. First time Iโ€™d taken the car out of the garage in a while and thatโ€™s the thanks I get
