5 hours spent on the coupe paintwork then knowing it may well sit in the garage now for 2 possibly 3 months i wrapped it in clingfilm before putting it away  yep really

Don’t know how many will agree with me, but I’ve been told by my paint shop to not even use a car cover in my garage coz it’s bad for the paint. They told me it needs to breathe. So God knows what cling film will do to it!

Nothing is the answer , ive done it before Nov through to March & it removes like it went on a hour before & leaves no sign of it being there , there is no adhesion with the clingfilm so its better than a semi permanent wrap that to my knowledge does no damage to paintwork
The garage door is up a lot &
1) don't like to see the dust settling on the detailed paintwork
2) don't like fitted car covers

Gave her a bit of a spring clean and top up ready for the MoT tomorrow. :D Just time for a quick drive before I drop her off. :driving:

You do know you can have a free extension of up to 6 months on the current Mot expiry ?

Fitted new brake shoes on the offside, did the nearside a few weeks back after they fell apart and disintegrated. Then painted rear hubs and calipers, fronts tomoz.DSC_3877.JPG

No I can't. That does not come in until 30th March. :( Until then it is still a requirement. :poke:

You lost me there. It's never been a daily. :? But the MoT expires on the 28th of March. It states on the Web site that it should be booked in as normal until then. Simples :)

Then the MoT will have expired and I can't drive it or insure it.

Some will no doubt chance it. Whether they get away with it time will tell. I can't see insurers turning a blind eye if I have a prang.

Nothing on the Z3 or the Z4 today, MOT'd the wifes Suzuki Alto, changed the front brake pads and replaced 1 tyre that was an original and was an advisory because it was showing signs of age cracking, brake pads were also an advisory as they were getting low. Tyre replaced on the way home then pulled new pads from my stock of spares and fitted them. Also changed the oil and filter on my Ssangyong Korando, ran it up to temp then used my Pela vacuum pump to suck the old oil out, easier to do it than getting underneath and removing the undertray to get to the drain plug. Changed the filter then poured 6 and a half litres of oil into it. Had enough then and retired indoors. Will be giving my attention to the Z4 tomorrow for replacement of the cam cover gasket thats leaking. The cover rubber washers arrived in the post from Sophers this morning so on with the job in the morning.

Not how i see it but your call , i wouldn't say the test was a necessary journey which i assume is why they are extending the expiry by 6 months .
You wait till the 1st to use the car again then as i see it you can have it MOTd anytime the following 6 months

I can see your argument. Would an insurer though?
