Evening all,

So I had a little clean up today :D

Engine bay looks amazing, great job. Looks like you might have been on it all day

Thank you
It’s not as clean as it looks in the pic
Probably took about an hour or so? I was cleaning the headlights and sprayed the strut braces so I was out there for a good 4 hours on all.

Looks very nice.
How did you get that tiny little red bucket inside the headlight?
Is the moisture getting in that badly then? :D

Purchased some goodies for a weekend project. Hopefully this little lot will sort out my damp passengers footwell.

I have bought a roll of the rubber tape stuff, ive heard its best to put it in the freezer as it makes it less sticky? any idea how long before you do the job you need to take it out to defrost.

Just have to hope my trim remover tools arrive in time for the weekend otherwise I may have to postpone until another time.

I got generic tape from amazon, it looks like similar stuff.

Thanks for the tips sound easy enough and will keep me out of trouble for a couple of hours.

Thanks enuff_zed! it’s magic! Damn moisture! I had that when I bought the car though. Used a spray bottle head to remove water  then new rear housing caps and seals

Home a bit early this afternoon. So wheeled out of the Zed and enjoyed a few hours around Bodmin moor. :driving: I still so love this thing on empty Cornish country lanes.

After the heat of the day here in Spain, I gave X3WKA a quick was and shine with Maguire's Quick Detailer and she came up lovely.

Took a few moody photographs - as one does! :)

Then had some fun with a filter App on my phone:

Nice ride but watch that whippy poking someone's eye out ... Stubby, pronto!

Mine passed its MOT today I have been advised that the front to rear brake pipes are changed soon and the front flexy's are apparently not looking their best. Also self levelling sensors are corroding. Oh well, only money I suppose, I have it booked in next week to have it all done. This was the first MOT in my ownership so was expecting a few issues.

Gave her a rinse ready for Zedfest tomorrow. The weather is looking good now but it might be a bit soggy underfoot :D .
Brought a cheapo third brake light as mine was cracked. Total waste of money, the plug was different so I did a bit of a soldering job & fitted the plug from the cracked one. The fit was awful, sticking out a mile at each end & when I plugged it in it didn't bloody work :headbang: . So, bought a pukka BMW clear, fitted it & works perfectly .
So I went from this..

Looks much better against the grey imo.
Also fitted two new struts to the boot lid. Opening & closing is so much smoother now so I'm hoping I'll avoid cracking the brake light for a while  .

Looking forward to seeing some of you at Zedfest tomorrow  .

Where did you purchase the boot struts from? Mine make a God awful creaking noise in hot weather, so I assume they need replacing.

Haven't looked how to remove the originals, do they just pull off?

Ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-New-...Struts-E004-/283287055396?txnId=2019390519018
3 year guarantee & I'm really pleased with them.
They're reasonably easy to change out. You need a small blade screwdriver to pull a clip outwards a little at each end. Then pull the strut off the ball end. Do the same with the new ones & when fitted simply push the clip on. Try not to remove the clip all the way as they're a pig to get back on. Ask me how I know

Prep’d if for a mini break in the Brecons. :driving:

Oil, water, tyre pressures all checked. Cleaned and polished. Kids dispatched to grandparents till Monday. Quality B&B booked. Fine weather on order and some very nice roads beckoning. Wife briefed to expect top-down motoring for the whole trip. Early(ish) departure tomorrow to avoid the worst of the traffic. Bring it on!
