What have you done to your car today?

Gloss black roof wrap and red tinted rear indicators

Looks great - have you changed the bulbs or are you just indicating in red at the moment? Seem to remember that using a green bulb will supposedly result in an orange light through the red - just wondered if it worked?

And then this :o

It's totalled & split right down the middle. Bought in January this year & fitted it around the end of February complete with new springs & nuts. Genuine BMW but bought on eBay. I thought the new fittings were supposed to stop this happening ffs  :headbang:

They are CRAP and very brittle. They break like that if you slam the tailgate too hard, almost every time. Bad luck mate, ya gonna have to buy yet another one.

Good business acumen from some tw@t in Bavaria. But bad for all us owners.

Yeah, I'm not a happy chap  Think I'll try one of the cheaper clear lens copies & see how that goes. Can't be any bloody worse :censored:

I know your pain I had same thing with oem one I have gone with the copy one and to be honest no complaints at all and worked out I can buy 3 for 1 oem simple maths you cant go wrong

I bought and installed the "ZHP" shift knob (popular mod on here). I haven't driven the car enough yet to know if it was worth the (rather expensive) price. At least it looks nice. The quality and material seems much better than the plastic stock shift knob.

First oil change done. Euro Car Parts sent me the wrong filter but turned out I had something suitable on the shelf: the joy of being a serial BMW owner.

A full set of discs and pads and new front tca bushes arrived yesterday but a bit too wet to sort those today. Job for next weekend

Mine was fixed yesterday, but I only had time to drop by and pay yesterday and anyway it was too hot to walk the best part of 3 miles!

So early this evening I walked to the mender's and drove it the long way home complete with a new A/C condensor so I've now got some coolness! 8)

And new front control arm bushes - it's like a different car now! Even though it's still on RFTS they have made a massive difference. I don't know why, but I didn't notice the same level of improvement when I had them done on my previous Coupe. :?

I went for standard in the end.

My BMW Indy isn't too keen on fitting non-OEM parts (he is ex-Sytner), they weren't that dear (as in £75 + VAT) and my car is never going on-track so I want a bit of comfort.

I suppose time will tell, but at least BMW give theirs a 2 year warranty!

I replaced the brake fluid with DOT4. Only just over a couple of years old, but it looked horrid! Especially what came out of the front calipers.

I change the interior light unit, the old on the one of the bulbs had gone and the small led was not working.
The old unit looked a bit black at the back :|
I changed it for a later version? and put an led bulb in. much better.
{However I can't get the two map reading lights to work , even though the bulbs are working and in ok??)

Yes i remember having the same problem .........took me ages to work our what the problem was and so long ago i have forgotten how to sort this issue. It had something to do with sequence of closing and opening doors i think . Maybe somebody else knows the correct answer.

ZHP in the house - feels good :)

Thank you Cotswold Hereford.

ZHP on the way for me too. Do you just wiggle and pull it ( no double nob entendres here please  ) to make it come off and then just push and twist it on ?

It'll come off how you describe, but fitting the new one just needs a bit of a whack - no twisting required.

And a ZHP is definitely an improvement!
