What have you done to your car today?

I noticed last weekend that the microswitch in the boot was missing; it's fallen off before and I've always been able to find it and put it back in, but this time it was gone. So I bought a replacement off ebay which turned up today; into the boot to remove the shelf and get the old holder out, and low and behold there was the metal tab - it had just been pushed back a few mil and stuck out of sight! Pulled it apart, reassembled and back working again. Annoying as fook as I spent the best part of a day raking through the boot and my toolbox looking for that bloody thing!

So now I have a spare microswitch in case anyone needs one
Someone was asking for one off the Z4 that's being parted out in the Sale forum

Yeah, it was me!

Got the refurbished wheels swapped back on- plus side the one I thought was cracked to sell with the old set is fine, just in very poor paint condition. Lovely to have a good set back on the car!

Well, I'm actually in the country, and it picks up radio stations well. I'll check it out properly soon.

Lot's of swearing and... New seats in, super low, feel great, and no, ride comfort hasn't been improved :D

That looks crazy cool but c'mon Tom, with those seats and the cage, it's time to lose the carpet too. Hardcore or nothing! :poke:

The weight savings must be intense?
Haha, not sure I could live with that! No, more carpet will be going back in when I can find someone to retrim it all, and I need some parts fabbed to make it look decent. Cutting out the bulkhead saved a lot of weight (more than the cage added for sure) but means that some of the fixings for the side trim pieces have gone. Think it will look pretty good when finished hopefully.

Washed off all the bugs from yesterday's run out with the fast stuff. :D Giles in the Nobel will have more to wash? He ingested a small bird.

I considered black grills, but decided the chrome surrounds link in with the facelift side indicators, which initially I was unsure of, but they have grown on me.
Black lower lip I hadn’t considered.

I have just installed a full set of continental tires. German tires on a german car, it just seams right. No need for anything fancy seeing i never go over 60mph in it. If you drove in the s**t kuwait roads with taught modified suspension thats as fast as you would go.

The original BMW stubby from say a Mini or 1 series fits perfectly and better than any ebay Chinese copy.

Reception is also excellent!
