Don’t forget to also register it with the police, as you are obliged to report all RTA’s.

This specifically covers you in the event the Muppet walks into their police station and claims some moronic woman crashed into his car in a Z4, swore at him then drove off before he could do anything, refusing to give any details!

Also, does she have any independent witnesses??? as these are key in protecting your NCB & not going 50/50

It sounds like the guy has either been banned from driving or not the owner of the car... but be ready for lots of trouble

Reported to police. Will be following up with them to ensure it gets looked into, since an offence was committed.

I agree though. Not sure if we are just pessimists, but this stinks of a long drawn out issue where he just lies to his insurance.

Ask for copies of the CCTV if there is any, you should be able to get this at the very least as a subject access request under data protection laws. Should make prooving it a bit easier.

Facelift front bumper for my Maldives Blue Z4 is finally all sprayed up and looking sexy!

Soon be time to build her back up and I can’t wait!

Looks great! Would you mind saying how much you paid for the respray? I am trying to get mine done also and quotes are all over the place

Hello mate. Thanks hes done a nice job on it and the coulor match is great.

I paid £300-350ish (unsure of exact cost as Im had a lot of work done including a side wing respray) for the respray of the front bumper - the bumper was black before so I've had to have it filled, sanded, primed and painted.

Fitted new handbrake shoes, new front left caliper and did a full brake fluid change while I was at it. I've owned the car 11 months now and felt it was a good idea. The photo below would suggest that I was right  (that's the old brake fluid, not a bottle of Coke):

Yeah, but how does it taste, huh? :poke:

MOT, service, new rocker cover fitted as mine was cracked. Chucked out enough oil to make it feel like an episode of stars in their eyes when I got out of the car!!
You couldn't see the spark plug on cylinder 1 as it was completely full of oil!!
Mech highlighted that the lollipops will need replacing soon as they are starting to get some play.

You don’t happen to know how much parts and labour was for the gasket change do you?

I’ve just asked for quotes but would be interested for comparison.

Fitted a new pair of Xenons, only one had gone but I guess the other would soon follow. It was a right PITA, had to take the wheels off, I know some say you can do it with them on but I don't see how, no room and you can't see what you are doing.

Gasket was about £20 odd from eBay, febi brand. Make sure you get the rocker cover bolt seals, yours might be ok, mine were f#cked!! They were about £16 from BMW.
Labour not entirely sure as it was my mates garage and a few bits we're all done at the same time. I'd say around an hour's worth, didn't seem like a particularly long job.
Hope that helps.

Also gave the car a good clean:

Rear rotors look really good  I wonder if there are bigger calipers available as it seems the stock ones are missing out on using the extra surface area of the new rotors?

Finally fitted an e46 M3 convertible ARB (with Powerflex 27MM bushes), new Meyle HD wishbones, Powerflex Lollipops and BC Racing coilovers.

The ride is beautiful, so smooth and quiet.

Looking forward to an alignment once I’ve fitted my Whiteline rear ARB.

Which BC's did you go for in regards to spring rate? Just getting round to looking at these again for mine.

I've gone for 7KG front - 8KG Rear.

Haven't put the rears on yet as i was waiting on the ARB to arrive which it now has. Job for the weekend!

Thanks! :D

The surface area on the discs is actually the same as stock, the performance rotors just have the advantage of a semi-floating aluminium hub and are cross drilled with directional cooling vanes. The same design as the M3 / Z4M discs just smaller and fit in place of the OEM 3.0si discs so an easy swap.

With decent pads the stopping power is perfect for me, the best advantage is the unsprung weight saving, the same reason I went with Style 32 wheels as they're one of the lightest OEM wheels.

Popped the grilles off and gave them a good polish with an abrasive. No matter how many times I use an abrasive polish I'm always amazed by the results. Before and after below.
