Facelift front bumper for my Maldives Blue Z4 is finally all sprayed up and looking sexy!

Soon be time to build her back up and I can’t wait!

Finally fitted an e46 M3 convertible ARB (with Powerflex 27MM bushes), new Meyle HD wishbones, Powerflex Lollipops and BC Racing coilovers.

The ride is beautiful, so smooth and quiet.

Looking forward to an alignment once I’ve fitted my Whiteline rear ARB.

So nice to have the Zed looking shiny again. Took her up on the moor. Then a wash and dry followed by a quick hoover. Was going to apply a new coat of Autoglym polish, but realised I am out of polishing cloths AKA J cloths.

Changed oil in differential (no drain plug ), front anti-roll bard bushes, new tracking rods with wheel alignement. Pending: front brakes pads and discs, front anti-roll bar links.

As per usual, broke my z4 whilst fixing it! Only supposed to be a simple gasket change! Broke the breather pipe and cover. Plastic very brittle!

Also lots of hard black deposits found with the engine. Zoom in and you can see.

Insurance all day long. Someone I knew also had this happen to their family car. Got the Reg? Insurance sorted that too... think it was a ball ache because the guy who opened the door wasn’t very cooperative.

The Mrs was driving (I wasn’t there at the time) and apparently he got out the car, looked at the damage, and then got back in and wouldn’t get out. Thankfully she snapped that photo before he closed the door.

Insurance has already decided he is at fault, and I won’t lose NCB, but might lose my excess if he claims he wasn’t driving or something.

Swapped my wheels with a spare set that ShaunKC lent me so I can get mine fully refurbed next week. Also took it out for a drive for the first time in over 6 months. Once the ticking stopped and the oil got moving it ran sweet as nut.

Its got to be. What if he wasnt even in the car or near it but the door blew open in the wind and caused damage, its still his car that caused the damage and his and his insurances responsibility.
The same goes for if a passenger opens a door and causes an accident, the driver is responsible for anybody in the car as well.
I was knocked off my bike years ago by a passenger opening their door. My lawyer (who was hopeless) said it would be difficult to claim as it was a passenger, I told him to get a grip and chase the drivers insurance. The long and short of it was I won my case.
