What have you done to your car today?

I’m not even surprised at the pics tbh Kev. I’ve seen so many of their screw ups it’s nothing new now.

The problem you have is they will employ pretty much anyone who will take a minimum wage, I’m not being snobby but when you’re dealing with cars with tyres, brake pipes etc etc it’s not funny letting the idiots loose on a vehicle, and I say idiots because I’m afraid that’s the type you get in these places. Anyone with an ounce of gumption won’t work in the place, simple fact.

I’m just really glad you didn’t have an accident mate.

That's awful :o kwik fit are morons.

My mate at work used to work for them (before seeing the light and joining the greatest automobile company on earth). He has told me so many stories of how they used to purposely break things whenever they had vulnerable looking peoples cars in for basic work, just so they could get more money for extra jobs :o the manager basically encourages the ''mechanics'' and gives them commission based on how much they bring in. Shocking outfit.

Doesn't surprise me now very unhappy customer let's see if they offer any money back for the repair I think not :x

Finally solved my 4000rpm power drop. Used an INPA cable and reset my long term knock adaptations. Now she rips through the gears again.

Fitted Eibach prokit, with konis, new rubber cushions, rebuilt the calipers, replaced the red stuff pads with same again as they lasted 30,000 miles,
6 Denso Iridium plugs,Mobil one and a Mann filter, then Mot pass with no advisories( not quite all in one day)Car was lovely, now awesome :D

Spread out over a few days:
Handbrake adjusted (was absolutely useless since owning the car, just under a year ago).

Found that whichever numpty worked on it last, had left the service lock at the lever engaged. And subsequently adjusted the rear brake to maximum tightness. So I've now released the service lock, adjusted the Handbrake to engaging fully at about 6-7 clicks on the first yank, or when double yanking, fully locks at 2-3 clicks. :D

Removed and cleaned winter tyres for storage and put the summers back on.

Stuck some carbon look sticker on the leatherz center console. Definitely not a great job, but still prefer it to the silver it was before.
All together quite happy.

Passed the mot today without advisories!

Edit: gave the interior a little scrub down, some dashboard spray on the black bits. Some leather cleaner/protector on the seats, gator etc.

Love that colour. I’d have been tempted before the M2 Comp came out - serious value for money!

Sold it!!... the phoenix yellow one.
The Z4M is in for an MOT and oil service (6 months ahead of schedule, but may as well get it done now so I can enjoy the rest of the summer in it.
Zed-less for the weekend which I'm not too happy about.

Ripped the seats & doorcards out for a refurb. Moving the leather across to some heated seats I bought on here recently. Will get the foams beefed up & full leather treatment, they do look a bit tired don't they? Also a small repair to the passenger doorcard.

Bit weird driving her back into the garage sat on a footstool  . Yep, airbag light is on but my local indy can sort that once the car's back together  .

They look very shiny.
I reckon if you jump in too quickly, you’ll shoot straight out the other door.

:D Yeah, looks worse in the photo tbh. 16 years old now so have had their fair amount of wear and tear. Hopefully they'll get back to a satin or matt finish once the refurb is completed  .

Replaced the DISA flap with the X8R one. The old one seemed to be moving ok though the pin at the top was loose and I was able to pull it straight out so I think it was a worthwhile upgrade. The OEM design clearly isn't the best.

Did also try and refurb the headlights with a 3M kit. Bit of a knack to it and fair to say I didn't have it initially so will need to go over them again. Bit annoying but live and learn. Hopefully the plastic covers are thick enough to take a little more sanding.
