What have you done to your car today?

Found these going to give these a whirl think they will work Screenshot_20190320-191315_eBay.jpg
I think I've seen every type of seatbelt holding device the world has to offer now! Those TT ones looked quite promising, but I think I'm going to go with the BMW Mini items and then strengthen them. They seem like they'll give the most 'factory' look I think. Will be interested to see how you get on with the TT items

Zed in for geometry on hunter again making a few tweaks was after a bit more camber up front drives awesome now :D 20190319_154418.jpg20190319_135344.jpg

Front camber seems the same in the sheets (give or take 0.02 degrees or so). How much did kwik fit charge you? Need to get mine done again. Car feels all over the place :headbang:
Hi mate got the geo plan £130 unlimited visits for 2 years so room for plenty of tweaks after any work done

Thanks for trying to sell them to me then
just thought I would save you the full price but to be honest I would send them back asap

[ref]bz4kev[/ref] first trying to sell me unheated seats, now fragile seatbelt clips...I'm going to have to watch out for you I think! :o  I'm aware that they're a weak product, hence the hopes that a little reinforcement might make them viable :) They're only £29 new inc. postage so I'll have a pop and see where I get

[ref]davros[/ref] I read your reply to another thread and looked these up a few weeks ago. They seem like a nice straightforward solution though they are a bit pricey once postage is considered. The eBay reviews for the Mini items were enough to send me looking elsewhere

They look very neat and should be a good solution  Hopefully they will have a small grub screw to tighten them into the headrest bar to hold them steady.
I look forward to seeing them fitted.

I'm confused, how are these going to work if you don't have a headrest post on your seat? Isn't the hole supposed to sit inside the post?

Hi enzed4, these seat belt guides are being used as a solution for people who’ve replaced their standard SE seats with E46 M seats, which have an adjustable headrest with 2 chrome posts.

Mot passed. Slight play on bottom ball joint so I've ordered a pair of wishbones.

Took The Geisha out.
She enticed me, I couldn’t resist...

Got to a point where I was sick of the burning oil smell once the car had got up to temperature. Did some digging round here and concluded a knackered rocker cover gasket was the likely culprit. I did what checks I could, but could no trace of oil leaks or drips on the exhaust system. Took her in to the knowledgeable team at Eurocare here in CHCH and they gave her the once over. They said they could not find a drop of oil anywhere on the car - very pleasing :). While discussing the ins and outs of the source of the smell, we removed the oil filler cap resulting in the all to familiar smell. A decision late in the day to get a new one has resulted in no more smell - $28 NZD well spent :D .

I doubt very much it is of much use to the majority in this forum given the overall geographic dispersal of the members, but if anyone needs a good BMW mechanic in CHCH NZ, Pete at Eurocare (and the other lads), are outstanding, reasonably priced and they know there BMWs inside out.

Took my e85 3.0 up for a remap. Was not gonna bother as I'd read some not so good reviews. The tech told me there were some markers that it had been mapped before. But to be honest i didnt feel like it as low to midrange was rather disappointing.
Anyway, got the stage 1 remap done using a Celtic turning map.
All i can say is wow! The low and midrange has been transformed. Just a whiff of throttle and now it pulls like the train i always imagined it would be.
Almost feels like the sport button as been pressed! Very impressed. Maybe my Z4 was badly tuned previously. But to me a vast improvement. Allegedly now at 251 bhp and 240 ft lb. Not bothered about the figures. Just massively improved drivability. Plus i got the remap cheap. Best 210 quid ive spent on the car. :driving:

[ref]freeriderdave[/ref] that's really surprising to hear! Does the Sport button still have a marked effect on the throttle response? Definitely money well-spent if it's made such a big difference :)

Re-installed my roof motor/pump after having the pump rebuilt by roofmotors.co.uk. Very disappointed to hear that I still have the same issue as before the rebuild, i.e. press Open button, roof unlatches, motor spins but roof doesn't open. It will open if I either momentarily press the Close button followed by the Open button, or press the manual bypass valve on the pump a few times. Awaiting a response from roofmotors.co.uk.

On the plus side, I wired in my Gaptech, which is great :)

Only had one key when I bought her & at 15 years old the battery must be getting past its best. Finally decided to buy a new one & I'll rotate the two to keep them charged. Bought from the stealers so I'm £162 poorer now :headbang: .
