What have you done to your car today?

Just had precautionary oil, filters and spark plug service at local BMW indie - Linwar motors in Southport. Great service and really knowledgeable. Recommended I should get components underneath cleaned and sealed to prevent further corrosion. looks like that will be my next job - anyone tackled this job?

The two latest things I did to my E85, 2004 last week. 1. I added a Back Up camera. The camera mounts on top the rear license plate and wired it to the back up light in the trunk. The camera connects to the included monitor wireless so I did not have to run wires from the back to the front of the car. The monitor is powered by plugging it into the cig lighter. 2. I installed a Mp3 connector. The kit came with a factory plugin that fit into the back of the radio. The Mp3 receptacle fits into the cig ashtray.

Here are two pictures of the New center console and the back up camera. The console is made by a fellow on EBAY for the Z4. It fits in so that it doesn't interfere with the hand brake or back storage door. The back up camera is mounted on the top of the rear license plate. Its wireless so I did not have to run a wire from the camera to the monitor in the car.

Any chance of some photos of the finished mods? Always interested to see how others add bits to their Z4's

Blimey Andy, no wonder you had an advisory on those old ones. Surprised it wasn’t a fail. They look completely shot! The replacements came up well with a clean and lick of paint. Good job.

Spent the morning yesterday removing the washer bottle and taking out the filters and cleaning them and the bottle itself. This after the main windscreen washers had slowed down to a mere trickle.

That filter was particularly slimy!

Filters all gunged up

Now nice and clean
