What have you done to your car today?

Gave it a wash and a wax, and couldn’t resist a quick spin with the roof down ☀️😁

New led number plate lights fitted and raised the suspension 10mm to get it sitting where I want.

Swapped out the old Bosch S5 027 battery with a Varta E44 Silver 096 battery. Was an easy 5 minute job but managed to break my ctek comfort charger/indicator in the process. A replacement's only £6 so not the end of the world. I also needed to reinitialise the windows and reset the clock but everything else seems fine. I didn't need to do any coding as some others have claimed.

Obviously not expecting any noticeable difference but it's good to know that I've now got an OEM spec battery that should outlast the car, especially since I'll be keeping it on charge in the garage.

Took her for the following at www.pmtautomotive.co.uk :

leather restoration
soft top protection
3 stage paint correction / polish
stone chip removal
5 year ceramic coating on wheels and paint

I will be blogging the progress and updating on a new thread. Keep eyes peeled at the weekend.

Been driving around with no central locking for the past few weeks after my last good key died. Couldn't lock the car because my drivers door lock barrel spins around.

Paid a visit to bmkeys today and within half an hour I had 2 working keys again. All they needed were new batteries, but the connectors needed soldering on to the circuit board.

I had replaced one of the batteries previously, but didn't solder it on and it stopped working after a few months.

So yeah, well happy now and it was only £40 for both keys aswell. Bargain

I was actually just looking at side lights earlier in the week! Could you take pics when it's getting dark? I'm slightly disappointed with the side lights, don't look near their "xenon look" statement at all IMO :(

Yep no problem in taking a night shot - to be honest I was not expecting much of a difference for the price but it was worth a go as the original side light bulbs were giving out as much light as a candle - they actually look better in the flesh than on the pictures even in the day time- will get some shots tonight cheers

Hi kis - sorry not the best picture only got iPhone camera here’s the head light with just the sidelight on 047C2CAD-2220-4788-8A5D-87FCDCA842A9.jpeg
Like you say not exactly xenon but much better than it was

Well... done some winter prep before the SORN

- XCP Rust Blocker on all underside nuts, bolts, bushes, exposed metal, joints & brake lines
- swapped into some winter shoes while she stands idle for a few months

The black wheels were only bought as a temporary solution... though now really like the Amplified black look

Yeah, that’s looking pretty mean! Just SORN’d mine too for the first time - bought a Golf to see us through a high (boring) mileage period. A little bit depressing but the VED on the ///M is a big wodge of cash.

Black wheels... even better in the flesh. Holding out on the SORN just in case can make the 14th Oct meet...

Removed one of my recently fitted facelift headlights to deal with a mega-condensation problem. :x

No sign of any moisture in there for the first couple of weeks, but with the car parked in the sunshine yesterday after washing it water had found its way in somehow.

Looks like I trapped a wire when fitting the back cover last time. Removed and reversed the seal on the back cover. Dried it with a hairdryer. Fingers crossed that’s done it.
