What have you done to your car today?

Fitted new 3rd brake light, took a punt on one from AliExpress, £22.62 delivered. Build quality seems reasonable enough although I didn't have much to compare it with as a previous owner had glued and siliconed the broken one I was replacing.
My one concern is there didn't seem to be enough curve, I had to tighten the two end nuts a bit more than I would have liked to get it to sit correctly, not excessively so we shall see.

Bought a 3.64 diff for it, i'll be fitting it in a couple of days time. It should liven things up a bit!

Kids and wife at a party for an hour or so ....

So great opportunity to start painting the Vanos and some other bits ! Long way to go but looking better for an hours work

That looks sweet. What paint did you use?
D

Quick rub down with wire wool , jack up car , mask all up and use Matt black stove paint . Done it to a few of my cars now and it’s really good . Lasts a long time but can easily be rubbed back to the stainless if needed

Oil filter housing gasket changed out, also did the lower air intake elbow at the same time. Gave the ICV and throttle body a clean out, the ICV in particular seemed well coated in deposits.

Tested the CCV and it seems to be working fine, so hopefully no more oil loss now that the main gaskets are changed!

Thanks for that. It's very effective. I'm thinking all mine might be getting some Winter treatment.

Also changed the third brake light, agreed on the lack of curve! Also gave the car a much needed clean. Washed, decontaminated, clayed, polished and waxed :)

Cleaned MAF, then VANOS solenoids. After the latter, certainly feels like acceleration/pick-up has improved. Now wondering if I should replace them to see if further improvement! Eventually planning to do everything - new coils, injectors, plugs, solenoids.

Picked up the 132’s after being powder coated and done a test fit. I’m now a bit unsure whether to go ahead and get tyres on them. I know guys on here have/had them on their Z’s so would be good to get some feedback on them i.e. what size tyres & spacers if required? Or do I just punt them and go for something else before spending £££’s on some rubber? I do like the concave on them though. Appreciate any and all input.

Andy.

If these are the widths/offsets it's already equivalent to mv2s with 24mm and 12mm spacers rear and front
Not sure on tyre sizes for a 9j on the front though, someone will answer your question soon

Added the hardtop! IMG_20180906_185731.jpgIMG_20180906_185716.jpg

Hardtops look so right 8) will be selling mine soon, unfortunately. I can't justify having it taking up the entire floorspace of my shed during the warmer months :(

Something tells me this one is holding out until peak winter for max value

I've been dreaming about hardtops for two years now... need to stop spending and start saving !

Warmed her up and gave it some today, the cars been on light duty this week, doing short journeys driven by my better half... it was nice to get back in, put the top down and go for a blast... I was getting worried as she was starting to get emotionally attached
