What have you done to your car today?

Slow puncture on my rear nearside alloy, had the same alloy refurbished 4 weeks ago and had 2 new rear tyres fitted at the same time so slightly annoyed but thought it was a nail or something. Further investigation shows the alloy has a crack which has been repaired by a previous owner.

Took it back to the place that done the refurb and they apologized for not spotting the old repair but say they can repair it, hopefully they can but may be looking for some smaller alloys as the 313's seem to be prone to cracks

They are already up for sale elsewhere but i havent listed them here as the front numbers could be a struggle for Z4s that are lowered
They are reps with no splits , buckles or repairs & fitment numbers are all 4 x 8j et 22 /
front rubber 6mm 215 45 18 Vredestein
rear 7mm 245 40 18 Michelin PS4
They will fit SE SI on stock springs / i had 15mm spacers on rear for ZM
The oldies are still the goodies, I like these, they remind of the m5 style (e39?)
Yep they are / were a classic but so hard to find now as a set of 4 undamaged or that aren't ridiculously priced .
Not unusual to see £400 asks for shabby sets needing refurb & rubber , £650/£850 for decent sets ( genuine )
Asking £450 for mine totally unmarked with quality rubber
Are these still for sale mr wilks?

VAX'd the mats and carpets. Can't believe how much c**p came out. Then a quiet afternoon detailing the rest of the interior

Did my first window regulator cable repair and found out my boot key lock doesn't work. Fixed the parrot remote and affixed it to the dash. Bought a new bmw rft repair kit and slid that in its place . Got a small coolant leak I need to find now, then stereo replacement and gear knob change and I'm done!

For now maybe!

I fitted a ZHP gear knob to mine - it's so much better!

Well after a trip to south Leeds to lower Kieran’s very nice blue coupe, a set of sport seats and door cards were put on eBay. So a spontaneous trip to Newcastle was needed and then the swap over.

From red, to black! Oh and heated so need to retrofit that now.

Stealth mode :)

Got rid of it.
Any idea for a replacement?

Possibly another but a 3.0. There will be a thorough inspection of it.
Had to get shot of it. The rear frame was rushed through and would have required the entire back end stripping and essentially a giant plate welding in. All the mounting points were corroded through. Huge job and huge money to kind of get right.

I quite like the 3.0 for sale on here with yellow seats and easily got the money for it. Sold the SC kit to a friend for 4k.

But for my daily I've just bought an ML270 for £1600.. somehow it is rust free and fully speccd. Just for a commuting barge. Even if it lasts me a year it's cheaper than leasing something new.
But I've got plenty of time now to search for an ideal 3.0 at the right price and condition. I certainly won't be buying so willy nilly again.
I may even consider hiring someone from here to come and have a look with me at the next one.

 Abused the coupe with 70kg of flat pack Swedish furniture in the back. But it fitted lovely. Who says a 2 seater cars not practical.
D

Dropped it off at the body shop. Wings, front bumper, o/s quarter panel getting new paint and a rear spoiler being fitted.

you’ll love them! Never had the pleasure of sitting in the standard seats but they don’t look like they’d be much use in the twisties :(

Got it back from the paintshop today after having the front bumper resprayed. Absolutely delighted ! Claridges of Southport did a superb job. The colour match, finish and fit is awesome. :D 20180723_224320.png
Spent a few pleasant hours this evening picking at the excellent detailing it had just received, not that it was dirty in the first place !
All set now for the Dumfries and Galloway run this weekend :driving: Can't wait !
