What have you done to your car today?

Finally finished fitting wezmoto brakes lines, replaced 3 sets of calipers and various brackets. Touch of rust treatment along the way too!

Found out today that my roof goes up with the key fob, only taken a year to find out. Am I right in thinking on an 04 plate this is either coding or a gaptech??

Replaced the Bridgestone DriveGuard run-flats, applied by the previous owner, with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Not a proper test of the full capabilities of the tire, however....
Were these tires a life-changing experience on the Z4M? Did I feel as though I was cushioned by melted marshmallows? Was I transported to the world of precision blandness as exemplified by the Boxster (apologies).
No, to all of the above, BUT the tires did eliminate much of the sharp, jittery, suspension responses to road imperfections that chipped my teeth and left my hands with carpel tunnel syndrome. Overall, an excellent improvement to the drivability of the M.

Why did you have run flats fitted to an M?

If you press an have to hold the the key fob button it's coding, if you press unlock 3 times and it drops or unlock 2 times then lock once an it closes it's a gaptech or similar

Probably because the previous owner was in the "completely daft" category. It gets better: he(she) fitted 225/40 tires, rather than 225/45, to the front, and that ate up about another half inch of precious front bumper clearance.

The brochures, "manual" and door sill sticker that I've been able to view all specify 225/45 as the correct front tire size for the Z4M. If this is not correct I will be cast into a deep depression.

They are already up for sale elsewhere but i havent listed them here as the front numbers could be a struggle for Z4s that are lowered
They are reps with no splits , buckles or repairs & fitment numbers are all 4 x 8j et 22 /
front rubber 6mm 215 45 18 Vredestein
rear 7mm 245 40 18 Michelin PS4
They will fit SE SI on stock springs / i had 15mm spacers on rear for ZM

The oldies are still the goodies, I like these, they remind of the m5 style (e39?)

Yep they are / were a classic but so hard to find now as a set of 4 undamaged or that aren't ridiculously priced .
Not unusual to see £400 asks for shabby sets needing refurb & rubber , £650/£850 for decent sets ( genuine )
Asking £450 for mine totally unmarked with quality rubber

I do like this style, but unsure on fitment, so will pass. At that asking price they should sell quickly.
Thanks.
