What have you done to your car today?

Got my £20 exhaust tips from Amazon as recommended on here...old ones came off easily using the claw bit of a claw hammer hitting from the back. Look good so very happy..
Couple of before and after pics for anyone considering it themselves..20180609_143855.jpg20180609_143859.jpg20180609_144629.jpg20180609_134100.jpg20180609_144331.jpg20180609_144327.jpg20180609_144337.jpg

Usual Saturday routine.
washed it, top up shine with detail spray, cleaned leather and topped up the tyre pressures.
that will do for now.
by tomorrow it will be covered in dust.

Fitted my new clear side repeaters. First step on the route to de-tango my Zed.

Clear rear lights arrived from Germany. Good service and impressed with the quality. Came fitted with all the necessary bulbs too. I have the red tint and lacquer ready and waiting to turn these into four clear spot rears.

Lastly, tried to re-fit the standard business CD. I rarely listen to music in the car, preferring the sounds of the engine and exhaust instead, so thought I’d go back to the standard look. Trouble is the main wiring harness has been fudged and the multi-pin plug for the back of the standard headunit is nowhere to be seen! There is a Connects 2 unit in there though. Just not sure what to do with it all now. :(

Don’t mess up with the masking, take your time, if it’s not right do it again.👍
Pics when you’re done.

Put new wiper blades on this morning and then drove from Newcastle back to Sussex having watched Ed Sheeran. That makes 650 miles since Friday morning... now that’s done and dusted the next hefty trip is to the Dordogne in July :driving:

Looks good. Same engine as our X6. Are you amazed at how quick something that size can get down the road?

Went to do sound-generator-foam delete and found that previous owner had done a reverse-sound-foam-delete mod - whole pipe was packed tight with cotton wadding! Got rid of everything and sounds good.

WTF? Looks like someone shoved Shaun the Sheep in there.

Yup, that and the effortless cruising in 8th at lazy engine speeds..

Drove mine yesterday for the 1st time since replacing the rear shocks with B4's on Monday.
What a difference, so much more stable and accurate now. The old shocks were original and had only covered 63thou. When on the car there was nothing to say they needed replacing, seemed to still dampen fine, but once off the car neither of them would rebound on there own, at all.
Combined with the new front shocks I did a few weeks back the car is completely transformed and an absolute joy to drive fast. Anyone thinking about renewing theirs, do it, you wont be disappointed.

Washed my car key...amazingly it still works!

The diamond keys are meant to be really water tight and pretty resilient. A mate of mine has an e46 and chucks it in the wash every six months or so to clean it  . Although I wouldn’t do it on purpose she hasn’t had a problem in the four years she’s owned it :)

Little gearstick colour change, the silver paint was so beat up and scratched! Matches the rest of my gloss black interior trim upgrade very nicely.

Can you ever have to much piano black inside?

Given the roof its first clean in my ownership and even removed the white gummy glue residue patches. Also removed the wiper assembly and serviced the internals. The wipers now park correctly.
