Well done Mark........I'm just watching the lightening and listening to the thunder instead of getting the zed up on jacks! :(

Hi Davz, Got the service items out the way just before the thunder hit, got the coolant to do but pleased with the days work. The gearbox feels better for the oil change can not belive any manufacture says sealed for life what a crock of sxxt.
Mark.

I know what you mean about so called sealed for life, it is inevitible that meshing gears will create fine wear particles and therefore oil should be changed. What was the condition of the oil and on what mileage?
Have you gone for synthetic oils?

7 hour session today :)

1. Carbon wrapped the interior
2. Leather restore kit used on a slightly worn bolster
3. Refurbed the steering wheel trim
4. Turtle Wax plastic restorer applied to all internal plastics
5. Sprayed the only remaining bit of grey plastic left - under the handbrake

Didn't even manage to get round to washing the poor thing but the inside has seen some serious love today :)
Nice work Greg.

Managed to pair an android phone (galaxy s7) to my new car, which wasn't any where near as easy as it should have been! Pleased to see all the phone contacts show up on the 12yr old pop-up computer display, which I wasn't expecting.

Began refurbishing the beat up alloys that came with my car. A daunting DIY job for me but surprisingly easy! After a few mistakes with the first wheel i’m quietly confident I can get the remaining 3 looking a hell of a lot better.

Cost me Β£30 to do, and it’s very satisfying too!

Good job. I’m going to have a go at mine sometime soon. I don’t think they warrant the cost of a professional refurb, so have been buying the necessary bits to give it a go myself.

Hi Davz, Went for Castrol Edge 5W30 long life with a Mann oil filter in the engine, oil was very black, Castrol Syntrans B75W fully synthetic for the box looked ok but the change has certainly improved, Castrol Syntax 75W90 long life in the rear diff again didn't look too bad. Car has done 79k miles. Brake fluid change with ATE SL6 DOT4.
Have the coolant and distilled water but haven't got round to changing this yet.
Rgds Mark.

Boring day for me left all the Zeds at home as have my grandson for day. So used the Cooper S convertible, not that bad really. I'm a lucky man☺

On my hands and knees, sweat dripping off me in the sun, taking the passenger seat out to remove a part of the frame in preparation for fitting ISOFIX points.

Was the e30 a 325i? I loved my old e30s. Almost bought one instead of the Coupe, but not practical as I don't have storage.

Driving on Dartmoor today. :driving: What great weather again. 8) After dusk, so just a quick rinse to get the fly's and brake dust off, when I got home. :D

I managed to get the rest of the summer prep done today. I got my wheels back on as well, they look a lot better than they did in Hyper Silver... It didn’t really work against the titanium body. Silver bolts and new badges went on too.

I did realise the trim on top of the near side tail light has snapped near where it mounts to the bumper bracket. Luckily I found one on eBay in T Silver for Β£18.

New plate and badge are on too.

Yep...325i full nut and bolt restoration done by BMW apparently. Was a minter near concourse I reckon.
