What other explanation could there be for the revs building, but no speed increase, whilst in gear? It's baffling me.
Last week it happened a few times, where I would accelerate from 50mph (on an NSL Road) and the revs climbed quickly, but the speed stayed the same.
It almost felt like I was riding the clutch, but I wasn't![]()

I wonder if you had some contamination on it. Any signs of an oil leak etc underneath near where the gearbox/engine join together

Hmm, probably RMS. I know I'll be doing mine when the clutch eventually gives out.

Lol, it's on MSport suspension and spacers, so a touch lower than std, I'd just turned it around on the hill though.

As fearless says above, It could well be the rear main seal leaking oil on to the friction linings of the clutch. Its cheap/simple enough to replace once the box and clutch/flywheel are out of the way if you do end having to do that. My advice at this point would be to hang fire and keep an eye on it, see if it gets any worse or if you have a repeat of the clutch slip episode and then go from there.
