What have you done to your car today?

Shiny!

On a side note, looking at this is making me feel there's better wheel options out there, so think a change might be on the cards.

Booked the zed it for a powerflow back box. The guy at the centre kept trying to get me to have straight pipes, he reckons they sound amazing on Z4's.
Thing everyone on my street would kill me though.

Has anyone already got one?
I have straight pipes, sounds awesome.....however........occasionally it can get a bit much on a long journey. Short journeys though......

I have thought about I think the powerflow will give me enough sound without regretting it.

Harley wax has been on about 10 days now, took it to the local valet centre for a £5 wash & dry! The guy even asked have I just had it resprayed?

Nice! Although that Harley wax won't be on there any more if you used the usual suspects.

The eastern European hand car washes spray your car with APC, which strips all the protection off. Run your finger over the paintwork, it'll probably make a sound.

Some very daunting work done today....

Since I refurbished my steering wheel plastics the flappy paddles on the back had stopped working, I had it off again twice before to try and fix but only the cosmetic parts and never worked this time I went in seriously...

Steering wheel disassembled and removed from the car... Turns out I'd sliced through a couple of the wires with my screwdriver as I was trying to release the airbag first time around...

All lined up on my desk and ready to be soldered back together...

And finally all fixed up and ready to roll!

Had to take it out for a little test drive (top down of course) to make sure everything was working, which I am happy to report it is!

Yeah it's far too loud. I've had mine for a year and getting a Dlv backbox on next month. Can't wait, the drone from a backbox delete makes your ears bleed

I have a back box delete. I love it, loads of pops and bangs, sounds insane when you get to the fun side of the Rev counter. I am going to have a sports box put in when I get around to putting the M bumper on, but that’s only so I’m in the clear on track days.

I think the cars with n52 engines are able to pull it off due to different exhaust systems, earlier zeds are the ones people seem to report drone issues with.

Have you considered a DLV box? They do sound nice in the clips I’ve watched.

Finished work at pm and spent the next 5 hours giving the girl a wash, clay mitt wash, 2 coats Poorboys black hole polish and 2 coats of Maguires Carnauba wax (Harley hasn't arrived and found another full bottle of Maguires in amongst the car stuff) Even the seats got treated to some Maguires Leather cream cleaner. Now about to spend the next hour in a hot bath nursing a very sore shoulder. Now only the wheels to do. Day off tomorrow and taking the wife out for some top down driving so may get the chance for a photo or two.

Joined the Z4 club a few weeks ago and got round to doing a few bits to the car. 20180410_185655.jpg

Soundproofed the doors.
Leather dyed the seats to get ride of the scuffs20180418_171357.jpg20180418_171400.jpg20180418_173909.jpg20180418_171404.jpg20180419_181604.jpg20180419_181550.jpg

In the last two weeks; new CSL replica wheels and Rainsport 3 tyres, Grom audio setup, new suspension bushes all round. Feels like a different car without the runflats.DSC_0001.JPG

Still trying to decide on wheels, and more importantly colour. In terms of style I'm looking at the 7 spoke BBS CH-R type, but not exactly. Currently torn between going for the cheaper option of Cades Bern wheels, if I can get them in Hyper Silver, or possibly pushing the boat out a bit and getting Enkei wheels, similar style but slightly nicer design and what you would expect to be a significantly higher quality wheel.

Decisions!

Subjected my Zed to it's first track day. Was my first one to and I'm pleased to say we both survived and I loved it!
Time to contact Number5 about sorting my roof motor which failed earlier in the week.
