What have you done to your car today?

Tried to get the centre storage compartment between the seat backs open again & failed miserably :x Any advise greatly appreciated here guys! 2004 reg E85 but doesn't seem to have the release in the boot, unless it's behind the bulkhead carpet?

It's a black plastic disc on the carpet, looks like a big button.

Thanks G600 , I saw that & gave it a right tug . Didn't seem to do anything except leave a load of string exposed. Anyhoo, went back inside & levered a little with a plastic thingy & ìt opened . Still can't open it with the button so I guess something is broken. Any clues? :|

Where you based mate? I took mine off a while ago and was able to operate it without pushing the tab. You've probably got a spring or something broken in the centre console bit.

Where you based mate? I took mine off a while ago and was able to operate it without pushing the tab. You've probably got a spring or something broken in the centre console bit.

Hi, I'm near Derby. Thought it might be the solenoid as it's supposed to lock/unlock with central locking. It just doesn't unlock. Just trying to remove the panel above the compartment to investigate but cant see how to do it.

Tried again as above but failed

Have fitted an Aux cable & small Bluetooth adaptor to enable me to stream music from my moby . What a pita removing those centre vents are :x . Got there in the end though. Reckon I'll knock some tools up at work to make it a simple job next time :wink:

Made a start on painting the aero bumper, planned to have it done tonight, but the bint at autopaint forgot to put the thinners for the primer in the box, even though she ticked it off! Couple repairs done and stonechips all stoppered and flatted though..



Will get it painted tomorrow after I've cut the washer holes..

Take a look at this, Page 4.
You don't actually need to take the whole thing off, just the middle-upper panel to reveal something like this



Then hopefully you'll be able to see whats the problem

Fitted front & rear cameras with a "parking mode" power supply (Lukas LK-290) that switches the cameras off before the battery gets drained. Means I should get a couple of days camera coverage when parking up (manual states 36 hours) - don't usually leave the car longer that that.

Also useful to keep an eye out for people nicking soft top covers at ZedFest :wink:
