What have you done to your car today?

Rebuilt the vanos, VERY tight to get it off the studs, but once it was off it's easy.

Well done, it looks a bit daunting tbh but I'd still get stuck in.

How long did it take?

It's pretty straight forward just awkward, about 6 hours but that includes getting a lift to work to pick up my right angled pliers, you'll need a set of those, the guide I followed was for the E46 where you don't need them as there's more room. Just be careful not to get any chunks of gasket in the engine, the rocker cover gasket will be brittle and fall to pieces.

I had a very nice bloke called Mike come around and relocate my roof motor to the boot. It turns out that my motor and pump has recently been replaced and is sparkly new, so I'm chuffed with that.

Many thanks for the excellent service Mike (Ducklakeview), much appreciated indeed. Top man.

Oi!
That's my hand lol..

Can't beat the ///M wheel - did you manage to get a decent used one or buy new?

Same move I made recently, just like you two I had a Royals wheel and went to the M Sport one, whats the verdict then?

Must be something in the water, as I swapped out my royals wheel for a M Sport one today. I'm planning on getting that done by royals in the near future though.

I've started putting bits back on now. Waiting for the crash bar and headlight bracket that was due today but BMW ordered the wrong parts, so another 5 day wait. :headbang:

Don't get me wrong, I loved my royals wheel, but it actually felt a little TOO thick with the double padding, even though the///M wheel is thicker. I think it's because my old one was just a circular cross section, whereas the new one has "sides" to it. It feels fantastic!

Oh, one more that I forgot.. Have been busy today!

Managed to bag a pair of mint black heated sports seats. They were manual do had to swap the base and back over to my electric frames which took an hour or so, but all in and working perfectly.

WHAT a difference!!

Nice 1, I've watched a few vids on how to do it but always good to ask.

Stripped out my centre console. Painted the plastics Matt black and carbon wrapped the aluminium.

Managed to get nearly all of this...

In the boot, just the lucozade and a couple wine on the seat :)

Three stage polish completed. Still some swirls so I'll have to try a bit harder next time!

But overall I'm pleased with the result :)

Replaced my number 2 brake pressure sensor. Took me longer to find the right spanner than it did to change the sensor. :)

Today I took the Z for its MOT. Passed with flying colours. Advisory for a back tyre. Ouch!
What did I do to my car the other day? Glad you asked...
I fitted powerflex polybushes to the front ARB. Thanks going out to all those who answered my questions on bushes and fitting.

Good job! Looks great. The paintjob, wheels and grilles contrast each other nicely.
The swirls can be a bugger to get out. It's all about the right buffer, cutting pads and compounds/polishes. Some great youtube vids on it.
Maybe 15mm spacers on the back and 10mm on the front to give it a more sporty stance.

Last night I built this ramp so I can get the jack under my car again and give the wheels a deep clean and repaint the brake calipers.

Today...After a long wait PCW modded my backbox. Took two and a half hours from start to finish. Sounds very nice, throaty with a crackle hear'n'there. No droning at 3k/70mph.
