Fitted my new seats after a hot air gun shrinking and Meguiars cleaning session. They look a lot better and will suffice until a possible re-trim later this year.

Nice one

Hope the rebuild goes smoothly
would have been a shame to hear it went to zed heaven.

Likewise! Is the bonnet okay? Some marks on the left hand side? Just superficial? Look forward to updates/your project thread! :)

NEW TYRES ! The Bridgestone RunFlats (original equipment, 2007) have been replaced by Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 + 225/45R17 94 V
Initial impressions, from the five mile drive home from the shop, are wonderful. I am anxious to get out for a thorough test.

Today, I pulled these bad boys out...

20170419_202619.jpg

I then removed the strut top mounting bolts, before jacking the car up enough so I could get my finger between the strut top mount and the body, before liberally applying coppaslip to said area, still with me?

Lowered car and refitted bolts, just finger tight, before taking the weight and moving the strut tops FULLY outward and tightenng them up yes I know, min neg.maxpos camber position, BUT I wanted it to be like that.. I then tightened my nuts

1 mile drive and back on the Hunter, NOW myself and the "tech" simply had to loosen the nuts again, pop a 22mm thin walled impact socket and long extension on the centre nut, and then I gently tapped the socket moving the strut top EASILY inwards (and therefore downhill) even with the full weight of the car on there. Managed to get the front camber to -1.5 on both sides, obviously after the rears had been checked and tweaked a smidge (std settings on the rear) the result? Turn in feels much sharper and self centreing is improved. Came on my usual "fast" roads to work, and car felt much better and gave me more confidence to press on, also I noticed that it was much less affected by unulating surfaces approaching a bend whilst braking, and tramlines much less now. Just need to bin the RFT's now, but still have a couple of thousand miles in them, however I'm off and 600 miler at the weekend :)

Bonnet has some pretty deep scratches, I'm looking for a decent body shop that can repair. I'll probably get the whole bonnet re sprayed as it's a bit stone chipped anyway.

Finally changed my oil and filters that I've been sitting on for the last 2 months, used one of those pumps to suck it out the dip stick tube, and when I took the sump plug out not a drop of oil left in the sump, well impressed

Loving the all red lights. How did you do this?

Cleaned and polished, grabbed a pic when the sun came out for 45 seconds, then fitted new recovered Royals wheel.
Gone for double thickness, with perforated sides, and red stitching to match seats. Looks ace, and feels fantastic - as the main touch point in the car it makes a world of difference to driving enjoyment.

Just want the sun back now.... :|

I had a very nice bloke called Mike come around and relocate my roof motor to the boot. It turns out that my motor and pump has recently been replaced and is sparkly new, so I'm chuffed with that.

Many thanks for the excellent service Mike (Ducklakeview), much appreciated indeed. Top man.

I'm going to try and get this done this summer as prevention rather than cure.

Big news....
I fitted a new Bmw boot badge to replace the faded one that came with the car.
