Your eyesight's failing old boy, look again-not a plastic cap to be seen :poke:

Today, I bought two perfect, Sterling Grey front wings for my car.

The NS still has the tiny ripple in it from the muppet that hit me when I'd had the car six days. dentman said it would never be perfect due to the area it was on (multiple curves) and it's done my head in since. The OS had a couple of small impressions in it, looks like someone had kneeled against it at some stage, and they were in the same multi curved area. So that's a job for a nice day :)

Today I got an OEM complete wind deflector, a Gaptech and a Grom Audio car kit..... just need a car to fit them to now

Today I removed the ridiculously flimsy, cheap and nasty parcel shelf in an attempt to stop the rattling that annoys me so much when driving with the hood up :x . What a shoddy piece of cr*p it really is ! :o
First I stuck some self-adhesive sound-deadening to the underside of the shelf to add some weight and 'substance' to it. This was leftover from when I did the inside of my doors and is a quite heavy plastic sheet with a self adhesive bitumen coating about 3mm thick on its reverse side. I 'acquired' this from work but something similar would do.

I had previously bought a roll of black 5mm auto carpet on E-Bay and cut a piece slightly larger than the shelf. I used spray adhesive to stick the carpet to the topside of the shelf and then trimmed off the excess with a Stanley knife.

Very pleased with the results. The shelf now looks and 'feels' like it should have done from the factory and not a single rattle or creak to be heard....sorted !

Gave it a wash ready for the Surrey/Hampshire Meet on Sunday - so if it rains I'm sorry!

Might have polished my tips as well, but I got carried way and washed my E46 daily instead.

So the rain came tonight instead. :( Sorry everyone!

Clayed, polished and waxed my car for the first time in 3 years ownership :D

Switched to black alloys & tried out a short front plate :) then drove it some more :driving:

Having never detailed a car and only previously washing it with a bucket of soapy water and a sponge, today it had the full treatment.

With a kind offer from Patriot the whole car has been cleaned all over. Roof, engine bay, wheels off, arches, interior, paintwork cleaned treated and waxed. Car looks amazing and all ready for next week. Picked up some great tips on techniques and products to use. Thanks So for all your help and hard work. Top bloke. Will get more pics tomato
