What have you done to your car today?

Had my Zed MOT'd this morning, a couple of months early but wanted it inspecting properly for peace of mind ready for the spring and summer. An easy pass :driving:

Had a good look under the car myself when it was up on the ramps, the tester showed me around the car and things to keep an eye on for the future. It's a credit to the previous owners keeping it in good shape.

Those play detectors are vicious, never seen one in use up close before.

Fed up with constant ridicule & abuse from pastry and Stu over my rusty hubs I did something about it this morning.
Cleaned the calipers & fitted New clips along with silver paint on the discs.

Popped out to Hartside Cafe. Crazy busy up there with bikes and off-roaders so had to park in the overflow car park

Never buy a cappuccino there - it's from a tin of powder and crap!

I's ok, I couldn't get in the cafe anyway. Instead I went down the other side of the hill and up again just for the fun of it :driving:

Today I ordered new tyres. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ 225/45R17 NON-RunFlat (I have an auto club card, plus a credit card and a cell phone, so I will trade the run-flat convenience for a smoother ride and improved performance) Apparently the model without the "+" added has been discontinued. I could have saved about 100.00 via a "stock clearance" sale, but the store had only 3 in stock and could not find a fourth to complete the set.

I replaced both front wishbones a couple of weeks ago so I booked a wheel alignment for today. Front toe was out and OSR toe was needing tweaked but it has made a huge difference to the handling, even with RFTs. Well worth the money and would recommend Pro-Grip in Larbert to any members in the area.

So not today but late Saturday. I managed the first start up. Not finished much to do no details of what is going on just yet.

Switchable exhaust? It sounds very different in each half of the video.

Today I re-dipped my rear wheels and fitted 15mm spacers
I'll post more pics of the finished article when I've done the front. P1030230.JPGP1030229.JPG

Yep, it's a clarke. Great little jack. 1.25 tonne. Well built and solid as a rock. They do a 2.5 tonne and a 1.8 tonne

If you scroll down the page in the link there's a video.

 if it had been outside my house I suspect they would have been. But unfortunately it's in my workshop not on my drive.
