What have you done to your car today?

....Also went to Zedfest where my ECU was reflashed, which got the roof opening and closing on the key...Hurrah!
That's very interesting - I'm guessing the DME was reflashed with the Comfort Access option, as I think this is the only 'factory' way to get the roof to close with the key fob?

I believe Dave has an e85 which can go up/down without having to split the atom ala e89 :o

Fitted some m359s
19x9 front 19x10 rear et35 all round

That’s an aggressive fitment, what tyre size are you running and any additional work needed?

Ha I was worried it wouldn't work but surprisingly no rubbing etc

225 35 19 front / 255 35 19 rear with just max negative camber on standard rear arms and no rubbing

Just did a little 20 minute bit of future-proofing on the 2.2i
No immediate signs of the original falling apart, but definitely a bit of lateral movement.
Lot cheaper than an engine rebuild that's for sure.

Removed the rear Z4 badge and both side 2.0i badges (they will never know) and gave the interior a good vacuum and wipe down. Purchased a drop link from AUTODOC to fit when arrives, the knocking sound is driving me insane! Next on the list is sorting out my foggy headlights

Mot today for the 2.5 passed with a clean sheet no advisories having dealt with last year's iffy rear brake pipe on nearside. Also fitted some sill side decals to break up the slab looking sills will not be fitting the M performance stickers that came with them

New project got some love today

Roof motor moved in boot
New rear springs, shocks, arb bushes, drop links and general clean up. Fitted 15mm spacers. Bled the brakes and changed diff oil.

Saturday onto the front suspension/brakes

Surprised how bad the rubber etc was, shocks were useless

Yup!
Ok, but the same still held true - I didn't think there was any way to get the roof up without a 3rd party device, which on the E85 is much cheaper (e.g. the RCH+) than the E89 smarttop option. If there's a way to code to get the roof up on an E85 I must have missed this revelation  . Or am I just getting confused in my old age and with the E85 you could raise the roof but had to hold the button on the fob (as opposed to the 3 clicks with the RCH+). It's been a long time since my E85 days, and even the E89 is gone now so all the 'Zed' knowledge is slowly draining away... :o
I feel like that house guest that's overstayed their welcome...

You can code the E85's GM5 to open and close the roof with the key. I coded my 2003 with NCS Expert and it work pretty good most of the time and it even works with my aftermarket keys.

Fitted a homemade clutch stop using this:

Also I fixed the broken glovebox hinge with the aid of some swearing and superglue :D

Finally, anyone know what this is? I found it in the driver's side footwell just lying on top of the floor mat. (Finger for reference).

Tyre valve.

Awesome, thanks mate!

I guess I can assume that since all 8 of the tyres on my driveway are still inflated this didn't come from either of my cars

Hoping to get my e86 back from the local indi, having new eibach back springs / b4 stocks / brembo brake disks and pds fitted. Also fitting updated power flex bushings to the rear shock mounts and both ARBs….. can’t wait to see how it drives/looks and feels

Will update with photos once I’ve picked it up, but seemed appropriate to get onto this page seeing as my licence has ‘666’ in it

Interesting to know what diameter the rear ARB bushes are on your car Phippy ? Starting to get bits for winter time SORN and thats one I am looking at.
