Took it out after remapping it back to stage 0, to see if everything ok. Ordered FMIC and charge pipe.
Sometimes, there's a point where roof down is just not a comfortable option... check out the temperature guage :heat:

Yep I wouldn't put the roof down in those temperatures either. I have tried it during last summer here and it wasn't nice!

Agreed, it reaches 38ºc here in summer... Spring and fall offer perfect days are perfect.
I remember, years ago, thinking I would expire one summer day waiting at a traffic light on a Harley dressed in black leather head to toe. Longest light ever

A long, long overdue spit and polish. I forgot what a little stunner it is it’s been so long since we had weather decent enough to give it a clean.

I bought it some Castrol oil in the ECP "sale", so when I got home I checked and topped up all the fluids then checked the tyre pressures ready for taking it to RBM for some attention from Ross on Wednesday.

But I couldn't resist going for a drive just for the sake of it, and realised it's the first time I've driven it on dry roads. So after getting it properly up to temperature it was time to see what happened when it was fully unleashed. Didn't get much past 5,000 rpm in 3rd, but got there mighty quick!

I'm already in love with the M, but was a bit disappointed to see the fresh washer fluid leaking from behind the nearside headlight washer.
Another job for the list! It looked like the jet was sitting a few mm proud of the bumper so maybe it isn't sealing properly.

Also noticed that my boot lid struts have given up the ghost, letting the lid slam down which is probably causing this problem with the light :roll:

So ordered some of those & a new light

good job i love me zed so much or it would go in the same direction as the last wife

I’ve just realised that the boot lid is heavy, and whilst it doesn’t fall back down (unless I only lift it a few cms) the struts don’t push the lid up. Is this the case with everyone? Should the struts be pushing the lid up or “just” taking the weight?

I replaced mine last year with some of fleabay. Once the lid is unlocked you need to lift it about half way. The struts then push the lid open & then dampens (slows) the lid down until fully open. Similar on closing, the main thing being it stops the lid slamming shut & breaking the centre light. I'm another victim of the dreaded cracked light .

Agree, ebay replacement struts, just replaced mine, bargain price of £7, just checked seller has not got any left but loads more options and prices on there, cheapest are £17.99 a pair at the moment

I realised mine were shot when I bought the car, once you lift the boot past a certain point the struts should raise the boot to its highest position automatically. Mine didn't do that so I changed the struts and now it does also when closing it doesn't drop like a stone and crash land :lol: . I purchased these from eBay, they are genuine Stabilus (same brand as OE part) and come with 5 year guarantee:

Gave it a good clean and polish having covered a good few miles during the last week on wet and quite dirty roads. That was before any winter salt went down. I’ll not be taking it out on damp roads again this side of spring now that gritting has begun. It’s all clean and shiny again now and tucked up in the garage hooked up to the solar Optimate.

Failed to Get the rear hubs and wheel bearings apart so dropped them of with Simon Thorpe Motors for stripping down so the rear trailing arms can be powder coated.

Last weekend I had to change a fuse for the cigarette lighter, only to discover the spare fuse holders were empty and there was no fuse extractor tool. It's all back in order. One small step at a time
