Cleaned it and put it into early winter hibernation

I miss it already!

Stone me! That's early! Don't recall even having summer yet :?

Where have you been for the last 6 months? record temperatures and plenty of summer weather.

Will be travelling with work a lot for the next couple of months so just wont have the time to use it - plus having the time and weather to ensure it's properly cleaned before storage is important to me

The weather today is doing its best to make me regret the decision though!

My Z obviously wasn't happy with me going to test drive an Alfa Giulia today as for the first time in my ownership it coughed, spluttered and bunny-hopped away from the parking space when I got back into it outside the dealership! No intention to replace the Z with the Alfa, the Alfa would be an addition, but still it wasn't best happy!

Looks like a really good job there  Really glossy! How did you spray it, with a spray can or gun?
Thanks, I actually used a small paint brush!
You have to work quite quick as the hardener kicks in and it starts to pull, but I was really impressed as there are no brush marks

That really is impressive, I would never have guessed that was done with a brush!

just loving the red hood

If that's in reference to my Z4 then thankyou :D so glad I got it done years ago. At first I dyed my black fabric roof, but didn't achieve the look I wanted, so I decided to chuck some money monsoons way and get a replacement fitted.

My mates call my car red riding good  but I don't care. It looks great to my eyes!

I do love the roof on yours Ben, if I ever find myself replacing mine with a new one I'm going red too. In fact not wishing to tempt fate or anything but if your ever find your self in a situation where your breaking the car etc I would appreciate first dibs on the roof.

Was comparing with last year I guess. Moved into a new house in April and no rain for 14 weeks!
Daily routine was to wake up, open all the doors and live in the garden.
Here in Norfolk it been much wetter this year. Yes, a few hot days, but no consistent summer.

A bit of cataract surgery on a friend’s car. Megs kit on its fourth use (!) plus a couple of extra UV coats.

Thanks Mack! It certainly stands out in a crowd of grey lease cars on the daily commute

The plan may well be to break the car, if and when the time comes. Unfortunately (or fortunately, if the missus is looking) I'll need something with rear seats next year, so the choices are to try and sell as it is and deal with tyre kickers (God I hate them), keep it on the drive and sorn it (not 100% on this as it simply won't get driven) or break it and sell off the parts.

I'll keep you in mind if I do go down the latter route

Had to dry out my passenger side headlight after I had LED bulbs fitted and never seated the back cover on correctly :headbang: so wifes hairdryer to the rescue 90% dry but on closer inspection found a puddle in the bottom corner so inserted cotton wool pads to soak up worked a treat seated and sealed correctly all good next week will be giving them a good clean with Maguire's plastx MOT time coming up soon  hopefully I've covered everything over the year fingers crossed

Gave the car a machine polish today with a mixture of Menzerna and Poorboys polish and finished off with Megs wax.A shiny black car is a reward for the hard work getting there, only trouble is five miles in the wet and it's back to square one.

Today I've had to put the Z4 in the garage.
20190908_092615.jpg

This is because of the purchase of this:
20190907_192344.jpg

And the wife's orders that we need to leave at least one space on the drive for guests (driveway currently occupied by E91 330, VW Polo and now the E46 330Ci)

Continuing the cleaning theme.

Cleaned and treated the soft top. Very happy with the result. I also replaced the aerial base and put a stubby on. The unit didn’t connect to the amp but I only use the radio to tune into the small Bluetooth unit paired with the phone and it still Works fine.

Maxman,

I have used loads if different waxes over the years but can confidently say this is the last wax I will use...

They have been around since the 70’s in Japan and trying it last summer imho it is up there with the best.

Beading, whilst i haven't left it on for the claimed 1 year it easily lasts months and its even easier to hose off the dirt and it beads again.

Wont say too much, just check YouTube reviews and try a tin for yourself. Its great!

Do you have link to the wax you used? Thanks.
