What have you done to your car today?

And then after flying halfway around the world I said good morning to my brother’s Z4 in the UK

Your brother has great taste  I hope he lets you have a drive while your in the UK :D

So new windscreen fitted today and I was a little worried about the seal, but it appears to be fine  that's a relief as the previous one didn't sit great at the top corners (yes I know aftermarket seals are rubbish. I've had 5 windscreens in this car now) :headbang:

So, I waited until I could drive it and then went to the shops. In full sun, there's some lovely scratches on the glass right at eye level for the driver :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: looks like someone's been at it with a scouring pad of some sort. Maybe damage caused from removing sticky labels?

Unsure whether it can be seen all the time. I'll have to go for a drive tomorrow and see.

I suppose the only way to rectify this would be another replacement windscreen? Unless it can be polished out, although my autoglym car glass polish didn't touch it whatsoever.

I just let mine stand out from the crowd 8)

Report it to the fitter/supplier ASAP; otherwise the longer you leave it the more they'll say "it was fine when installed". I fear a replacement screen will be the only solution - good luck!

Had a nice drive yesterday, down through Surrey and Sussex to Brighton, then a countryside trip back north; all with the roof down. And now I'm as pink as a lobster and a very sore head! All this time with the car and I still haven't learnt my lesson.

If they are only fine scratches lookup CeriGlass its a heavy duty polish especially for glass, it should get those scratches out.

I went for a drive to Chichester. Nearing Goodwood it seemed every other car on the road was a Ferrari, Porsche, Jag etc. Did not see any z4s but it was an interesting drive.

Edit: just looked it up and it was Supercar Sunday for the Breakfast Club at Goodwood.

Ffs Ben your luck with windscreens is laughable  hopefully they can sort it without too much hassle

I know  I think I might just leave it, as no doubt I'll need another new windscreen next year

Cheers, I think something like that may well do the job. They're only fine scratches, but very annoying at eye level. My previous screen had no scratches at all before the crack (it was only 1 year old) so it's really bugging me :x

Going to go for a drive today and see what it's like now I've polished it with autoglym stuff. If it's barely noticeable, I'll just leave it. If not, it's either a call to autoglass or some CeriGlass

The scratches on the windscreen seemed OK today, so I'm just going to leave it and just leave a rubbish review if they ask for one. I'm at that point in my life where I simply couldn't care less anymore

One thing that I thought was strange was the wiper position. When in use, the drivers side wiper doesn't wipe all the way over to the A pillar. Now I'm not sure whether it's is normal or not, but they definitely sit further down the screen than before, so maybe this is how they're meant to operate and sit? If anyone could confirm, that would be great.

As you can see, they sit a bit further down than previously.

It looks as though they’ve replaced the wipers on a different part of the spline? :?
Rob

So do you reckon they should be sitting further up? The drivers side wiper looks to be sitting really odd, compared to the 2nd photo of how it was before the replacement windscreen.

Looks like the tools will be back out tomorrow :headbang:

I'd switch the ignition on, turn the wipers on and when the drivers side comes up, switch off the ignition. Then undo the arm nut and re-position the wiper blade so it is parallel to the pillar and tighten up

I went to this for the first time and impressed. Great selection of cars.

Thats for that advice, worked perfectly and now the wipers sit much better and wipe over the full screen. The passenger side one could sit a little lower, but everytime I repositioned it, it kept catching the edge of the scuttle panel slightly, so sat it a bit higher and it now functions without touching the scuttle

The joys of fixing someone else's f**k up! :headbang:

Now it seems like the rear wheel could benefit from poking out a bit more! But I think I'm happy with the motor now, only thing that lets it down is the slight bits of wear on the roof but very little I can do about that short of a full replacement.
