What have you done to your car today?

Had to go get a new PS4s for the rear after getting a screw in it yesterday. Also ordered one of them clear rear light. Off to see a guy about a full wrap later too
Didn't you have a part respray last year, or am getting mixed up

Yes I did. After 6 years i fancy a change of colour. Maybe black or a even a Matt grey

Changed the gear box oil and the shift from 1st to 2nd is a little bitter, from 3rd to 2nd is much better.

Was going to do the diff oil as well but there is no drain plug (will use a suction pump to remove the oil) and my 14mm socket allen key is at work so that will have to wait.

Yesterday I removed the CDV and fitted one with no internal bit in it, on the re fit it would not seal up and was dripping fluid, tried the original one back in it leaked the same so it is now fluid tight with the CDV removed. Had a little panic this morning when I jacked it up as there was some fluid dripping from around the CDV area but it turned out to be water probably from the air con, as I had been out briefly to buy oil and warm up the old oil.

After a horrible noise and bang from the window on the passenger side while lowering, today removed door card and found the window regulator in very sorry state, to be honest this window has been groaning a lot recently. So have removed the regulator mechanism and ordered the repair kit. Hopefully next weekend will get to do the difficult bit and get everything back together and working, fingers crossed.

Met up with fellow forum member Dave 2 dogs and my brother and mate in their Z3 at a classic car show in Orsett this afternoon.
There were some nice cars on display, but we probably spent more time admiring our Zed’s in the car park

Had to work Saturday, but my new 4D plates arrived, so I fitted them when I got home, and gave the leather and interior plastics a good hit with some Dodo Juice and Autoglym. It's looking tidy as feck in there now!

Changed gearbox oil for Redline D6 ATF. Old stuff kinda looked okay, fairly clear yellow colour, but towards the end of the drain-out it got quite think and dark - seems to have separated a bit or something.

Shifting 1-2 and 2-3 now noticeably better. Still a bit notchy, but better. Probably do diff oil next.

Started my "interior restoration" project yesterday by hoovering the cockpit thoroughly - something that's not been done in a very long time. The inside has completely transformed, feels almost like sitting in a new car. I took out the leather gearstick and handbrake covers and I'm going to give them some nice leather treatment and bring them back to life. Wanted to take out the entire centre console but didn't think there's much point until I'm going to wrap it.

Fixed the airvents that had been pushed in/out of place by my magnetic phone holder, didn't expect it to be so easy and now it looks good again. Still struggling to get it to fit back in place though with my after market stereo. If anyone can provide any inside form the image below, that'd be great!

Trying my Autoglym headlight restore kit and getting a bit anal about trying to get all the deep chips out with the 800 grit - making more work for myself later😊

I think the fascia cover is meant to lip over the bottom edge of the vents? Try taking the fascia off, push the vents back and then put the fascia back.

Well, today was a fun and productive day for the Batmobile. First up I went ahead and fit spacers all around her to widen that stance and fix the weird fitment of the stock wheels so far inside the fenders. On the front I fit 12mm and on the rear I fit 1" adapters. Here are some before and after photos:

Also, I went ahead and fit in some experimental product I had never heard of before called "Sugru." My hardtop in the front on both sides had the smallest little opening where air would come in even though it was fit as well as I could get it using the toolkit. It would actually create a helluva noise at high speeds (which my car often sits at :P ) SO I decided to basically seal it up using Sugru. It's like a moldable glue compound which does an excellent job at closing up little gaps just like mine between the hardtop and the windscreen. Works like a charm and no more road noise! Once it's fully cured it has a very rubber-like consistency and looks right at home with the rubber already there, so it was great!

She's ready for some other mods down the line, but for today it was an excellent run!

Mods still planned:
LED conversion for interior lights
Leather seat restoration (cracks, scuffs, and dings) I'm considering buying seat covers but I liek my heated seats...
Removal of Hardtop Spoiler (maybe)
Eyebrows Mod (see my post on recreating a specific mod look I saw online)

Thanks for reading folks!

I think you are correct! Tried it before I went in to my office this morning and it defintely does seem to align better but I still cant get it to stay in. Not sure if I have to take the radio and the cage further out, put the plastic parts in and then push the cage in to place. It's taken 5 years to get this thing in  although 4 of those, the car was standing on my drive whilst I was in Germany.

Fitted the Bosch Aerotwin blades which arrived on Monday. Anyone else find that the driver's side wiper doesn't have much compression against the windscreen and leaves a bit of a gap at the middle of the blade?

Funny enough I have these on my Z4 and Passat. Absolutely fine on the Z4 but raised in the middle on the Passat, just as you describe. Can't work out how to correct it. Drives me mad!

Does it wipe okay on the Passat or leave a big patch?

It does a good job on the upper half of the swipe (top of the screen) but leaves a patch at the bottom... getting gradually worse as it reaches it's 'resting point'.

Forgot to say it's just my driver's side too.
