133 leptons down the m25 :driving:

That must've been leptons per hour, surely ? if so, mine, aided by Jembo's and Jan_tekin's, has made me do similar on the M26 :driving:

Z4 itis made me wash and wax a car for the first time in my life!

+1

Haven't done any mods to my zed... quite content with it as it is.

But I have plenty of z4-itis symptoms in the form of spending too much time looking for perfect parking spaces, cleaning it more than necessary, being suspicious of anyone walking near my car... etc. etc. :driving:

mac27040, Do you have some pics or a seperate topic with pics? I'm interested to see some of those modes more into detail :-)

 schoolboy error; corrected. It was brief and felt so glued.

Well, as the title states, I was wondering what people on this forum have changed on their cars after being infected by the Z4-itis (and still plan to do)?
 WARNING  do not read these posts if you do not want to be infected!

What was already modded when I bought the car:
- aero lip on rear bumper
- aero side skirts
- no badges on the side and the trunk

Here are my mods so far:
- angel eyes conversion
- stubby (Peugeot)
- painted calipers
- self-made airscoop
- CPU remap (+15bhp, better throttle response)
- spacers (15mm front and 20mm back)
- Gaptech roof module
- custom quad exhausts
- K&N filter (in original housing)
- metal interior inlays (the wooden ones made my eyes bleed)
- comfort light module
- OEM cruise control

My mods 2 come:
- eibachs, 35mm drop
- replace catalyst system by sportcats
- mid muffler delete
- Aero front bumper (as the car already has the other parts of the body kit)
- custom satnav (Garmin insert in the OEM pup-up monitor)
- 19 inch belini staggered set (8,5J wide front and 9,5J wide back) with non-RFT tyres
- non-RFT winter tires on current 108 rims
- led fog lights and xenon-look headlight bulbs
- footwell lights and puddle lights
- hardtop (but still in doubt on that one...)

...and God knows maybe more if I get inspired by following posts

So in the meantime I can add a few things to the list:
- FK springs (which I removed again, bad purchase)
- 19 inch CSL's
- led fog lights and HID's for the headlights
- aluminium pedals
- aluminium bottle holder (with courtesy of a happy monkey)
- metal handbrake and gearknob (another item made by the same happy monkey)
- metal radio knob (yup, same monkey again)
- black kidney grills
- metal door pins with BMW logo
- rear window baby sticker (very important mod!)

As for the mods 2 come, the list changed entirely, lol:
- different front bumper, not sure which one yet... The estilo-r version does appeal (but not the one with the ginormeous kidneys)
- front bumper splitter (also to protect the bumper a little)
- decent lowering (still hesitating between static and coilies, which are quite expensive)
- Machine Monkey strut braces (if he still makes those) in anodised black
- in time, a complete custom exhaust system, hoping for a real raspy racing sound
- air intakes for front brake cooling (DIY project already laying around)
- custom satnav (Garmin inserted in the OEM pup-up monitor, already have a few bits)
- led angel eyes (as 1 of the ccfl's already died)
- get the headlight lenses clear again (little foggy)
List may get longer thanks to other idea's I'll surely find on the forum... A supercharger is surely something that interests me, but unfortunately that's an MOT no-no in Belgium...

But first, there are some repairs to be done: dsc, traction control and oil indicator sensors all died... luckily not too expensive to repair
I also wonder when I will need to replace the bushes and stuff?? Read a lot on those but haven't had any remarks at MOT yet

well i have not had the car that long but so far

changed the wheels 3SDM 0.01's
stubby
clear 3rd brake light
de-badged and replaced with likwidart ones
carbon front grills
sound generator
painted all the engine bay plastics in black
clear side indicators
carbon wrapped the dash

i think thats about it so far.

still on my list

full wrap in red
M sport seats
custom exhaust

O where to start!! I brought my car as a toy and a project to make as much and do as much as possible. So its not just been a modding journey so far but a big learning curve as well. I have never really don much modding with cars until about 18 months ago. Sure i had done bits and bobs but always brought in stuff.

new gear knob, handbrake and radio knobs.
strut brace (currently dont have one as i sold it0
Quad (currently dont have it as i sold it)
New full proper quad light weight and hopefully not to loud. Its in the garage waiting to be fitted.
1 set of e92 m3 reps sold
1 set and refurbished by me e46 m3 wheels genuine. They really suite the car in my opinion.
Fk springs hated them and they are gone.
Spax rsx coilovers love them but still need to play withe them to get the set just right.
Either done or have the bits to do full bush replacement front and back.
New control arms front and track rod ends.
aero rear bumper
home made front bumper
i pod lead
flat bottom Audi style diy steering wheel. Not fitted as it needs retriming.
Currently trying to fit a LSD

And i am sure there is stuff i have forgotten. I plan to get some more BHP next year either a turbo or S/C not sure witch yet.
