My book says 95 RON ( How did they know my name? ) In my E85 I always used Tescos Momentum - 99.

What are people using - is there any advantage in using the posh stuff?

Best put foot down to overtake at worst change down!!
Then change undies.V-power for HER.

Advantages of good quality fuel is well documented but my question was aimed at octane rating - The book says the system is designed for 95 - are there any advantages in using 98 /99 ?

Prefer to stick to Tescos Momentum or V Power, but have been known to fill up half the tank with ordinary unleaded for Sainsburys if they have an offer on

This has loads of info! Also last night on fifth gear they did a comparison. 6BHP difference between supermarket stuff and the top super unleaded, with a VW Golf Gti edition 35.

all production cars have to be compatable with standard 95 ron. european union says so but most manufacturers tell you to use a better quality

My very humble opinion: the way one drives the car will have an overwhelmingly larger impact on both economy and 'performance' (in terms of real-world, safe acceleration and speed, etc) than choice of fuel. There's a much bigger benefit in spending the money on advanced (as in performance and safety) driver training rather than posh fuel.

BP ulimate here. I put in normal unleaded once and it took about 3 tanks of the good stuff for my car to drive well again. Something just felt really wrong.

Not sure but I think the champagne stuff works better on turbo engines I noticed a difference when I used it when I had a VXT turbo..
