What fuel do you use in your Z4 ?

It’s the ethanol % in E10 that will cause problems in the future.
Also running a tank of super unleaded will not instantly increase or advance timing. The dme would take 4 or 5 tanks to get the most of the higher octane available.

Ethanol will cause no issues for any generation of Z4, unless they are parked for months on end with ethanol-filled fuel lines.

E10 has been available in Germany for over a decade, with mass adoption. There are no reports of it causing consistent and widespread issues with cars of the age of Z4s.

If you're using your Z4 at least once a month, you'll be fine with E10. The amount of unsubstantiated scaremongering and misinformation about it is wild.

To be fair I ran my E46 325ti with the M54 engine on 95 RON all the time and it never caused any issues.

But I always try to use 99RON for my N52 and S54 engines because it's recommended "whenever possible" in the manual.
