What does your horn sound like?

May be my imagination but my horn sounds feeble all of a sudden

Are there two horns ,high and low? Wondering if one of mine has stopped working

Mine sounds like it has plenty of low down authority. Maybe check your connections?

Common problem apparently - due to their location, picking up road grime and moisture. I replaced my low horn on Saturday - took less than ten minutes. Just one 10mm nut and an electrical connector.
I now have a spare high horn as I got both from a scrappy...

There are indeed 2 horns. One in each corner behind the bumper cover.

Replaced mine with air horns sometime back when one of the OEM failed. Gets people's attention a lot quicker

Did you have to use a relay to get the right level of current or is the OEM high current cabling?

I judged it to be adequate cabling and after 4 years have had no issues.

Had the low horn on my SI replaced under warranty when It failed.
My mate always said the horn sounded "tinny"- I never thought anything of it until BMW spitted it and replaced during a service!

I certainly don't plan on pulling the front bumper off to show you a pair of airhorn trumpets and compressor mounted in the void.

Real easy install. Just a question of finding a suitable location for the brackets for compressor and trumpets. Lots of room to work with.

Yep, my low tone horn wasn't working when I got the car. Sounded very girly till I got round to replacing it. High is on the driver's side, low is on the passenger side ; access through the lower panel at the front of the wheel arch if you don't want to take the bumper off

Haha, fair enough!

Do you have a sound clip?
Fancy something with a bit more 'presence'...

Stop it. It's an air horn - you've heard thousands of them...
Available at any car show, motor factors, etc.

Is that ok Andy? I mean - should you be worried that it does not do a Piearrp instead of a straight Parp? :poke:
